love the bee water station idea 🐝 i'm gonna get one of those done!
I have valerian in my front yard pots, it's a bit of a thug and does spread. But it's great for humming bird hawk moths - even though I live on a main road, I once had 6 at once one night. I've also noticed at Brockholes that humming bird hawk moth caterpillars eat Himalayan balsam.

Interesting. I saw one at cannon Hall last year in the small walled garden. I think it was feeding on salvia.

Conservation sadly is not about protecting each individual animal from death, but about maintaining a balanced ecosystem and maintaining a balance in the populations of each species. It is sad to hear that some animals have to be controlled but there will be genuine science based reasons for it.
