Thank you to HRCC and NotaRubicon for sharing this adventure. Love it. More interaction with Ham Radio and GMRS.
This is awesome. 2 of my favorite channels. I hope you guys can find some other content to collaborate together on in the future!

This was great, learned a bit about off-roading too! think I need to go back into Randy's back catalog
Thanks for a fun collaboration. GMRS was my gateway into amateur radio, and I still use it frequently with my family while kayaking, road trips, camping, and so on. Thanks for doing the stuff and the things.
Saw Randy's vid on this already . He's legend. Been waiting for yours to see the other side.
After being a joined subscriber of Notarubicon for a minute, I’m convinced Randy is a fellow Texan at heart. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn he’s from Texas.
I just ideated "Telescoping Mud Guards", where the plastic fenders mount on a sliding track with an actuator or manually operated with click stops... Then, based on conditions, the fenders/mud guards can extend out horizontally to cover more of the wheel...
The collaboration you and Randy have going is pure gold.. I’m a happy ham that misses the days of off roading when I went to college in Arizona Back in the mid 90s. Can’t wait to see your next ham radio / 4x4 adventure…. 73…. KC2KNA..

That was a nasty crash! I learnt some great 4x4 tips from randy. Cool air tank idea. If Randy gets his HAM licence, you need to buy a Rubicon Jeep!... a real one, not a toy. Lol 🚙👌😁
Crazy. I drove past that accident just as the road opened headed into Big Bear. Stayed there Sun and Monday. Small word. Didn’t hear anyone on 146.520 from Castle Rock.

Super cool. I like watching both you guys. Both yall's content is super helpful and important
I watched both videos they were both great, im so glad to see we can all get along.
Just wanted to say, cool video you and Randy (Notarubicon) made. It's was great to see the chemistry of both of you promoting your interests in your respective hobbies and make it fun. That Gold Mtn/Holcomb Valley area is beautiful country considering it is surrounded by nearly 20 million people. I happen to be just a few miles from y'all on Sunday afternoon in my truck doing the 3N16 run from Van Dusen Canyon to Green Valley Lake. Perfect day for some 4 wheel'in. The John Bull trail you were on is a bit intimating for my F150 4x4. I can't believe someone was crazy enough to attempt that between those rocks. Look forward to future collaborations with you 4 wheeling and playing radio. 73's and 69's
I fell in love with that gorgeous California countryside! But, a jeep is definitely a gateway drug, for sure.
Great video! I watch both of you guys and just upgraded to General, so the POTA snd SOTA activation was very cool to see. I plan to do the same thing here in NW Colorado as we get up on the peaks often to camp and off-road. Looking forward to learning more.
I loved this video. Heading over to watch Randy's version.

Just watched Randy's video now Im on yours
I saw Randy's video, can you talk about the solar panels and solar charger you used in this video?
I feel like I'm in the twilight zone.... I had to come over here to Josh's channel to see some very excellent Notarubicon jeeping scenes. Nice work Josh! 11:30 By the way, Randy, is that the Motorola XTL-5000 hundred Watt radio on the dash? Very nice indeed.

Jeeps are addictive. Even if you are not into overlanding, they are great vehicles for horrendous weather and are fuel efficient. I wish I would've went with Jeep with my last two vehicles.
@TheNotaRubicon

Fuel efficient?! Mine gets 16Mpg IF i'm lucky, going downhill with the wind at my back! On the trail in 4LO, it gets about 10Mpg... BUT - its still worth it!

I'm surprised, Randy. I can understand low mpg on the trials. I must be spoiled with 25+ mpg I normally get even with 4wd during the winter time.
If you are not breaking off raid parts or leaving big debts in body panels are you ready off roading 😂
Josh, Randy calls it the biggest adrenaline rush you can get at 3 miles per hour. 19:07

Hi Josh, I have been binge watching NotARubicon and have now crossed over to watch some of yours. I have a few questions. Take this from the perspective of a person that is new to seeing this. 1 - what is the point of HAM? You talk alot of lingo when making contact but whats the point of the conversation? I dont get it…is it just to get the handle and location of the other person?…why? 2 - Can you maybe make a video breaking down - explaining what the terms mean when when you are communicating? 3 - Does all you communications when making contact follow the same pattern?
I heard more traffic on GMRS in just this video than I have heard on my local 2 meter repeater in the past month! Just sayin' .....love the combination of Jeeping and radio......maybe a new contest rules for new category? Plus my two favorite You Tube nerds!
