That Gold Mtn/Holcomb Valley area is beautiful country considering it is surrounded by nearly 20 million people. I happen to be just a few miles from y'all on Sunday afternoon in my truck doing the 3N16 run from Van Dusen Canyon to Green Valley Lake. Perfect day for some 4 wheel'in. The John Bull trail you were on is a bit intimating for my F150 4x4. I can't believe someone was crazy enough to attempt that between those rocks. Take this from the perspective of a person that is new to seeing this. 1 - what is the point of HAM? You talk alot of lingo when making contact but whats the point of the conversation? I dont get it…is it just to get the handle and location of the other person?…why? 2 - Can you maybe make a video breaking down - explaining what the terms mean when when you are communicating? 3 - Does all you communications when making contact follow the same pattern?

Please tell me as a new HAM that I will at some time be able to understand call signs. My mind has serious problems processing the phonetic alphabet. Slow I can get it about 95% of the time. At Josh speed maybe two letters. Fun video ...
