Usually there are 3 directions that they can take. 1) The one that Jesse, Davis and Greg want to go 2) The one that Jirard takes 3) The right way.....

Does any else get the idea that the only reason Jirard has taken 3 years to complete Skyrim is mostly due to his terrible sense of direction?

So basically Slender and Hoodie guy are the perfect team? One you have to flee in terror from and absolutely must never look straight at it, the other you have to stun with your light because otherwise he just catches you. What happens if both show up at the same time? I guess you're dead.

It's a proxy. The Slenderman uses proxies to bring him more people, to murder, to taunt... Marble Hornets has several proxies.

I like how the number of active generators is displayed on the actual generators. That’s some fancy wiring that tells each generator how many generators are active and which ones.

The Creature in the hood is Kate, the person who Lauren is searching for. She was the girl in the first Slender game, and when she was captured, he turned her into his pet, to help lure other's to him. Kate is labeled "the chaser" as she does the physical dirty work for Slender. There are about 8 of these Titles for various children and people that slender corrupted over the years. Is kate dead you are asking? No. She is more like one of the borg from Startrek. Forced to serve a cause beyond her. In many ways, a fate worse than death. ~the more you know~ -Edit- the reason she's wearing that mask is because living in the mine for as long as she has, has made her eyes sensitive to light. Thus explaining her strange features.

I think this is scary because you have to check behind you all the time to make sure your safe. Its like every time you look back you expect her to be there and when she isn't its even scarier. I'm definitely one of the ones who hides in the comments and just laughs at the commentary. XD

Rafe I fail to see you logic. Terrorist attacks are meant to make you fear the next one. The USA is paraniod due to the terrorist attacks. Many people fear their every plane ride will end in them dying as a result of a new 9/11 type attack. Terror is the result of expecting an attack constantly, even when there is nothing. Horror is more when it is completely justified because the attack is happening at that moment. You can't have terror without an attack, or at least facing the horror of a possible attack. But the constant expectation of the attack creates terror. Renewed danger refreshes the terror. That is why terrorists are so powerful. People are AFRAID of them. If the media stopped talking about them, if people didn't know about them, then there would be no power. Look at how the world fights terrorist influence. Politicians trying to give feel good speeches and trying to reinforce the message "look they can be beat, you don't need to fear them" While the main weapon of a terrorist is the media, the news. Who constantly say things like "While we are killing them by the hundreds, they are recruiting thousands of our own to replace those we kill" That scares people, but if the news said "we are killing them by the hundreds" then people would be like "hell yeah, we are killing those bastards." Back to the game. The terror is the fact that they are in a constant danger that gets renewed with deaths like the one around 7:30, the horror is when hoodie is running right at them.

squirrel_killer Well normally the definition of terror is basically "extreme fear" but the comment I replied to stated that the definition of terror was fearing an attack without an attack being there, nowhere in the comment did it say that an attack had to happen first. Therefore the logic would fail if you simply look at terrorists who most definitely commit attacks. Also, horror and terror are synonyms. "hor·ror noun 1.an intense feeling of fear, shock, or disgust. synonyms: TERROR, fear, fright, alarm, panic;"

Rafe I agree with you on a technical standpoint, I was trying to better explain what the other guy was trying to say by what I felt he meant. Sadly I find to play the definition game to be a bit of a poor idea, since languages evolve rapidly, while dictionaries do now.

9:08 Actually the first Jurassic Park game from 1993 (which was the first game I ever got) had a dark scary level kinda like this one with lots of raptors. It was also the last level and the only one that was played in first person view. It was especially scary because you only had enough ammo for the first 10 raptors or so and then you would just have to run for your life.

Nah in the 1.5 Steam release if you beat the hardmode you learn that it is the boy (Charlie Metheson Jr.). He was lured in to the forest by slender with toys, the reason he looks like a zombie is due to the corrupting influence of Slender. He is a "proxy" and very much alive.

Haha, to be fair, the biggest factor for this series of SGS is that I can't see all of the things that they see because we're playing on a huge TV, and the TV is angled flat for the other 3, but it's angeled for me, so I missed a ton of the detail that they see. Plus...we're all drunk and angry with one another, which doesn't help haha.

That One Video Gamer I mean if you're the one playing maybe you should move so you can see the screen fully? that seems kinda important and it might help your sense of direction.

It's funny how at the nine minute mark they didn't notice the hoodie guy running underneath. You would think being on a scaffolding would give the a good vantage point.

It's almost 1 in the morning, I'm watching this alone in the basement, they're running from the kid, things are tense and then the edges of my screen flash green and the video player goes to static then minimizes, basically the same way effect as the static in the game. It turns out that's how KZread goes out of full screen when a network error occurs... not cool KZread. NOT. COOL.

That "hoodie person" is actually Kate! I figured that out with the long hair and other stuff that I saw during this series! Its really AWESOME!

If only they'd get the volume a bit higher and could hear the hoodie guy run at them from a mile away, they'd be fine.

The hoodie-person is what's called a slender-proxy in the slenderman mythology. Basically, when a person gets driven crazy by slenderman, sometimes they become agents of his will, either deliberately or unwittingly, depending on the story.

7:18 had me laughing so hard because of Jirard's rage. I don't typically laugh at that kind of stuff, but Jirard is usually pretty calm and collected.

I like how the Slender Man is just hanging out like "oh yea, remember me?"

If Scary Game Squad does not end with a grimy basement knifefight I will be suprised

@Joseph Denton Slenderman was originally created by a Something Awful power called Victor Surge, who did not make these games. However, these games have a lot in common with famous ARGs such as Marble Hornets that were inspired by and feature Slenderman, so I'd say they're as "canon" as anything else. For instance, the audio/visual distortions, the creepy drawings on notebook pages, and the "proxy" humans serving Slenderman are just as common in the ARGs.
