Here is a head start for that next journey and thank you for showing all that care to pay attention that there is a beautiful world out there waiting to be experienced. I have around much of the world and you are right, the Oregon Coast is amongst the most beautiful there is to see. So much so that we are retiring from WA down to Southern Oregon in the next few years. Safe travels!

I just completed this route for the first time motorcycling, on a GS, during a fall storm... Glimpses of amazing beauty, through the fog and rain, as 20' swells hit the rocks... infilled with the sheer terror of only seeing 40' ahead on the tarmac. Choose the dates for this ride wisely

My husband and I used to travel down from BC, Canada down the coastal highway all the way to Southern Oregon every year, camped in the yurts, and explored the dunes on ATV. I was most looking forward to this section as it brought back so many memories. The Oregon Coast IS the most beautiful to drive and ride down.

Watching this video, it fills me with so much joy. The amazing sceneries, the bike and the road, the relaxing music and the beautiful calmness that you are. It all gives such a relaxed vibe. Thank you. It's because of people like you and ItchyBoots that last year on my 54th birthday, i decided to lose weight and get my license. Soon it'll be my birthday again. I already dropped 33kgs, am having weekly motorcycle lessons and am eying that cb500x in the showroom 😅

Well Amanda it was so nice to meet ya last night and was a honor to carry your helmet for ya. Crashed the bike on the long route to chelan. Went over a 50ft embankment and went over the handlebars. No broken bones, bike is cosmetically damaged. But still ridable. Love how ya clowned dork in the road last night, all in good fun. Have a safe trip outta touratech tommorow. Glad to have met ya😀

Another great piece of moto photo journalism, thank you. As a fellow PNW rider, I was amazed by your aerial shots, so professional. I don't think your statement about the best part of the PCH is controversial at all, (1:45) it's just a fact. I moved a 1000 miles south, from PDX, for 4 years back in 2013 and most scenic drives in SoCal are not what you expect: too much traffic, too many people in a hurry, and too many hazards to truly enjoy the drive with Malibu being a shining example of disappointment. The route from SF north truly is where the gold is. I hope to ride the Oregon Coast and enjoy some moto-camping this Summer.

I've lived in Southern California my whole life. I rode south from the top of Oregon on PCH a couple summers ago. This spring, I drove southbound on PCH from the top of Washington State and can proudly say I've travelled the entire length of PCH. Without question, the best part of the route is the entire length of Oregon to the southern end of the Avenue of the Giants. Thanks for taking me along with you to relive the route.

Only time I've been to the left...erm.. west coast, was year 2000 (pre TSA, also last time I've flown). Wasn't on a motorcycle but in a rental minivan with my folks. Drove out of SF across the GG bridge. We didn't cut to the coast until Willits and then out to Fort Bragg. There's a fantastic botanical gardens there and highly recommended. Pacific was very windy that time and waves were spectacular to watch and listen to crashing in. Drove north through the Avenue of the Giants and eventually Eureka. East bound to Redding and south a spell to an uncle's house. Haven't been to Oregon but the NorCal coast and landscape was fantastic.

With a bit of encouragement from your videos, I bought a beautiful yamaha cruiser, strapped it down for bear and headed out on up the pacific coast highway starting at the Golden gate, up through Oregon, Washington, to Mt Rainier and rode the cascade mountain range all the way back down to California. Took me 3.5 weeks and 2,878 miles. Absolutely loved every moment! That was late 2020. Since then, I've moved to Oregon and settled into this beautiful state. I'm planning my next ride to Yellowstone soon. Thank you for the encouragement to get out and do the thing. It changed my life.❤️

Amanda, I tend to agree with your "controversy", I'm a 70+ YO Central California lad who's done the PCH quite a few times by moto and by car. I'm totally jaded about that HWY 1 section Carmel to Morro Bay. Traffic has ruined it for me, especially on a moto. Probably never ride it again, I have plenty of pleasant memories I'd like to keep that way.

A better choice of traveling the coast is to go north to south. Most all the sights you would be stopping at are on the west side of the highway and being southbound makes it much easier to stop and enjoy them. Many folks will pass on stopping somewhere if it is hard to make a right turn with lots of oncoming traffic.

The Oregon coast is generally nicer to visit than the Washington coast for a couple reasons. The Pacific Coast Highway more closely followed the Pacific coast in Oregon than it does in Washington state. Second, there is much more public land along the Oregon coast than the Washington coast. These two things combine to make the Oregon coast more accessible. The Oregon coast has a lot of great attractions. The California coast is still on my bucket list. So can't compare it.

Thank you for putting these beautiful videos up for everyone to see!! I saw the Oregon Coast for the first time in June of 1983 when I drove the PCH down to SF. Since then I have always said that the Oregon coast is the most beautiful place I have been in North America. It is even more stunning on a foggy day. I have been in all the lower 48 and most of the Canadian Provinces and I still say the Oregon Coast is the most beautiful place to go. A close 2nd, for me, is Glacier Nation Park, but you have to hike in a way to get away from the road and tourists.

Looking forward to a future series of the PCH! Having experienced 101 from Rockaway Beach up to some section of Washington before making my way back to the main roads again for our hotel, it was a lovely drive and gorgeous to take in. Haystack Rock is a nice way to end the views.

Born and raised in So Cal yet I completely agree, north of SF is the best riding roads. I'll be doing your route in reverse this summer, Portland to SF and back. Thanks for info on what to do.

That is some very beautiful scenery. I've traveled up and down the Pacific Coast Highway a few times, but never into Oregon and never on a motorcycle 🏍.

I live in McMinnville - It's literally a quick hop on over to Lincoln City, if I have time for a longer "pleasure ride" (which, i have 2 kids and work full time... doesn't happen often) I will always head out to Lincoln City just to be at the coast! I've been having back problems on my most recent bike... and kinda stuck with it due to the loan, so i've been taking a lot of trips out that way lately just testing different things as well... went from Mac to Lincoln ciy up 101 until i hit seaside and took 26 back over to banks, back through forrest grove back to Mac.... it's a blessing and a curse :)

I much prefer the PNW to California in all ways, and it's no surprise to me that Oregon is the most beautiful part of the PCH. So I agree with you, so you didn't convince me, but you definitely reaffirmed what I already believed.

From a pure scenic and rugged perspective, I think Carmel to San Simeon is pretty damn incredible. However, having spent a significant amount of time on the Oregon coast, it definitely has many more camping and recreation opportunities. Plus, the color of the water is amazing. But, coming from a Californian, I cannot understate that the traffic here is nothing less than utterly ridiculous! I will also say that my worst day on two wheels is far greater than my best day on four wheels!! 🏍️ 👍🏻
