Not for the Faint of Heart | Cliff and Tunnel Hike above Los Gigantes, Tenerife

Another day in Tenerife, another trip to explore more of the island. This time we went on a hike along the coast which is not for those who are afraid of heights. Walking on the cliffs of Los Gigantes is certainly something we won't forget! ⛰

If you thought our hike was dangerous, it's actually nothing compared to this insane video that we found. It's from the same area but the guy in the video is walking the water channel high up in the cliffs instead of the path. Totally incredible and crazy! kzread.info/dash/bejne/hoWK1tV6e5ucZZM.html And more of our hiking through tunnels to a hidden beach in the Los Gigantes area is here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g2ye3JhmlqjXf9Y.html

Omg. A super mega giant no-no. That path so dangerous, just looking at it makes me dizzy. And only anesthetized could someone put me in that tunnel. Goosebumps!!!!! Not satisfied with the heights and the tunnel, Peter was trying to get a wave to drag him. Don't feel guilty Tommy, you must preserve yourself. Children like Peter have no sense of danger. Jokes aside guys, massive video. Flawless. 10 out of 10.❤

The beginning of the trail was actually quite enjoyable. But once I got to that spot where I didn't feel safe anymore, I knew my part of the hike was over 😃 When I don't feel safe, I'm just not able to continue no matter what. I was glad Peter went on his own though, so at least I didn't have to feel guilty about preventing him from going into the tunnel 😊

I took pictures from the highest points at the top of those cliffs in 1986, there was no sign of that cliff walk way below at that time ! Most of my pictures were taken from the basalt 'fish eye' at the top of these cliffs, looking back along the banana groves to the South. We were also very lucky to escape a 3.5 - 4.0m Tsunami, while swimming between the little beach and harbour entrance of Los Gigantes, Tenerife, end of March - early April 1986.

hah i am not claustrophobic, but i am affraid of dark long tunnels, i literaly get panic attack and it can switch me to certain events, so if there is no eletricity or flashlight ot what ever i am not entering tunnels. it is hard to explain, i get overwhelemed by strees feelings, of danger, panic etc.. and if there is people around who i dont know, i go balistic with panic mode, coz i cant see, it is long, not much space and if someone who i dont know i sense is behind me i freak out lol.. so peter kudos to you, i maybe would be abel to come whole way till tunnel and would stay at entrance lol... i am watching this and it gives me creeps just by watching it. peter you remind me of my greek friend, he is same when it comes to exploring and going into places wich are kinda risky, if there is a sign on your own risk, for sure he will be the one going that way and into that place. i am kinda simmilar, as long as it not tunnels like this one, wich often can suck for others, so all of my friends usualy chose activities where there is no risk, i get them, coz screw it i am handicapped and if someting happens i can actualy become huge burden or someone who would not be abel to help properly, like carrying someone or something. so my greek friend needs a lot of self control when with me, not to go into risky places and such stuff. st isvery nce actually to expirence certain places and things thru your videos, coz i was in tenerife and many other places, especialy in iceland, it is filled with things like this and isolated areas and i often went to visit some, but coz of others i often decided when we came to certain point that i will stay behind. coz already till that point i risked too much. it is very nice to see this side of tenerife, wich i did not see when i was there and probably will not see next time i will go there, i probably will go till certain point then just gave up.. so i get tommy too, coz i for sure would risk all the way to tunnel, but not with a tunnel and probably would re think should i go or not at same spot where he left, coz after all you need to gt back and getting back in such places is often trickier then going forward. thx a lot for this video and this expirence... btw that other guy is insane, it is selfish, insane and unnessecary risk, one slip, wrong step, cramp, earthquake and he is gone and someone else can get hurt trying to save him, if he survives or trying to get to his body.. my therapist would say that people like this, deep down are actually suicidal. i was same, was doing simmilar insane things, once he just asked me do i actually want to die, made me think a lot lol, after 3 suicide attempts i realised deep down i am doing such insane things ( was doing back in past), coz actually yeah i was hoping deep down i would die..

That tunnel was not so bad because I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. And there were a few people on the hike so I met a few of them, one guy even in the tunnel so I didn't feel like I am completely alone in the darkness. But I get what you mean, it can be scary. We are not done with tunnels yet and probably in two weeks you'll see worse ones, yay 😀 Tenerife is actually a paradise for hikers and we also were surprised when we were researching ahead of our vacation. Your Greek friend sounds like fun, hopefully he is not the one in the second video! @@tommyandpeter yeah he is fun, no it is not him in that video, but he is very close to that, he do simmilar insane things like this guy, but not when he is with me, coz he knows i would go ballistic lol or try to follow him to some point, wich makes things complicated coz even thou i am used to have prsotetic fist and leg ( couple of them, for various occasions and things, their functions varies) still some things are too risky, coz i forget too often that i dont have sense of tpuch, grip etc and my brain still works like i do, coz i knew how it was before it, so some activities i kinda tend to over calculate my abilities, so he actualy for my sake does not go into extremes like he usualy do in case something happens to me, or in case something happens to him and i would not be abel to help him, coz of my own limitiations and he knows i could not live with that guilt over my head. even thou we never directly talked about it, we kinda both knew each other on deeper levels, our relationship and dynimcs are very strange when we are together, we can spend whole day just not saying anything and do things in sync, stay in doors for whole week, or go camping for weeks, just 2 of us. for people , our relationship seems strange and they can't never figure out the nature of it, coz we seem very close, very phisical, but in same time not. but we actually get each other without too much words said and he is the only person in my life who literaly knows every detail of my life, things wich only my therapist knows and people from my support group for survivors of ethnical cleansing, coz he more than once whitnessed some of my break downs, dissociations, driftings to reliving some events, he saw the worst sides of my ptsd wich no one saw ever, not even my exes. my tunnel phobia is actually directly connected to my ptsd and some events, i have same reactions in elevators if i am sharing it with strangers, especialy if it is more than 3 male persons inside, with smaller dark rooms with closed doors. it is more about dark and size of place.. i once asked him why he is doing such insane risky things and he said coz he loves the feeling, the rush.. basicaly he is adrenaline junky. he once broke both legs, arm, shoulder, ribs and almost had serious head injury for doing something simmilar like this guy, he lost the balance and fell 6m into water, luckily there were people in boats who saw him fall, so they pulled him out. since then he kinda toned it down a littel. but yeah i am pretty sure you and him would have a blast together, while me and tommy would sit somewhere waiting for you lol...

You were kind of daredevils to try that path, please be more careful, we want to continue watching your videos, lol

It was definitely an adventurous path but we enjoyed it. The tunnel was a nice bonus for Peter 😊 More videos are coming, maybe even more tunnels 😁

Guys I have to say this is not my favourite video as I don't like high places and when you pointed the camera down to your feet to look at the drop, I kept stopping the video to get my balance but I did enjoy the video overall, take care of each other

You are not an exception, a lot of our viewers are afraid of heights which is quite interesting. We enjoyed the hike very much, it was very unique and it did not feel very dangerous. Once the path got complicated and Tommy didn't feel like it, he stopped so we weren't reckless 😉

We disagree, it was an amazing hike that made us happy. Even Tommy wasn't scared and he is afraid of heights. And then when he didn't feel like it, he stayed back. I loved every second of this adventure and definitely felt safer than in some cities around people 💚
