'Not clear' which U.S. presidential candidate China prefers: Former Singapore foreign minister

George Yeo, visiting scholar at the National University of Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and former Singapore foreign minister, says "we've got to get used to the idea that Trump may well come back."

If American truly want their beloved United States of America to be a great, benevolent and respectable nation, Americans need to do the following. (1) Force the two parties, democrats and republicans, to put up two fresh and respectable candidates for the presidential elections. (2) Demand an end to political lobbying by arms manufacturers; gun ownership societies and clubs, etc. (3) Demand an end to having clowns; lunatics and fools entering politics. Currently, United States Congress has a high percentage of such politicians. Americans deserve to have a much higher standard of the country's government. United States of America must avoid walking along a path that sinks the country into the abyss of insanity.

It make no difference to China which parties become the government in the US. China responds in a mature way to whoever run the government in the US and carry on with its normal existence and taking care of its own economy for the betterment of its own people. The US will do anything to sabotage China progress and to ensure that China cannot catch up or compete with the Us in advanced technology. China is focus on its own internal growth and is doing this to make the life of average Chinese better than competing with the US. China is perfectly fine to do business and trade with other countries including the US. China is embarking on engineering and industrial transition from its agricultural industry to the efficient and stable manufacturing processes in scientific and technological development in the modern economy. The US economy is focus on conflict and war as well as total submission on other countries to US interest and US foreign policy and making money for its military industrial complex and big corporations. China structural transformation in economic development contrast sharply with the US military and diplomatic tensions to undermines other countries to stoke up trouble to force total compliance and submission to US interests and US foreign policy. The US bad mouths China and trying to undermine China with falsehood and propaganda war in order to demonized China. US is US and China do not need to abase itself like the US.

China is more advanced than the US in many ways; the US' "overcapacity" is actually efficient productivity. China can easily trade with other countries; the US isn't essential.

Of course. Say NO to Woke ideologies. Have a stand like Argentina President's recent interview why he supported Trump's policies in response to China's Remimbi controlled band. At least he understood why and how to fix his own currency demise due to accumulated monetary and fiscal issues that were triggered by the mismatch between spendings and investments. Centra bankers tried to fix that but sometimes 20 years of attempts still didn't solve the destruction.

The USA knows consciously (or subconsciously) it is in decline. In a few decades from now, not just China would overtake USA economically, but also India, even Indonesia according to economists. USA then has to contend itself to being no.3 or no 4 economically. Hopefully by then, its hawkish, warmongering and hegemonic cravings would fade somewhat, including its 800+ military bases around the world.

William Blum, in his book Rogue State, lists over 30 times that the United States has done that. Another study, however, says 81 elections in 47 countries. France 2017 makes that total at least 82. Honduras 2017 makes it 83. Russia 2018 makes it 84. The 2020-revealed 1964 coup in British Guiana makes it 85. Somalia 2022 would be 86. There are clearly dozens more. In a reality-based assessment of U.S. crimes, the serious offenses begin beyond that threshold. Here’s Blum’s list of over 50 foreign leaders whom the United States has attempted to assassinate: 1949 - Kim Koo, Korean opposition leader 1950s - CIA/Neo-Nazi hit list of more than 200 political figures in West Germany to be “put out of the way” in the event of a Soviet invasion 1950s - Chou En-lai, Prime minister of China, several attempts on his life 1950s, 1962 - Sukarno, President of Indonesia 1951 - Kim Il Sung, Premier of North Korea 1953 - Mohammed Mossadegh, Prime Minister of Iran 1950s (mid) - Claro M. China can implement long term plans that yield long term and SUSTAINABLE benefits for their country. US, given the 2 term limit (with the 2nd term reliant on results of 1st term), incentives their president to pursue extremely short term and UNSUSTAINABLE benefits. Call Xi a dictator if you want, I won't argue against that, but it does allow him to think long term.
