Not Really Nuggets Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
Nuggets:
-1/3 c maple syrup
-2 T apple cider vinegar
-3 T chia seeds, soaked 10 mins
-2 cloves garlic
-2 T chili powder
-1 T miso
-1 t cayenne
-1 t cumin
-1 t salt
-1 cup sun dried tomatoes, soaked 1 hour
-1 red bell pepper
-1/2 onion
-3 ears corn
-1 cup nutritional yeast
-2 cup ground sunflower seeds
-2 cups ground sesame seeds
Coating/breading:
-1 cup ground flaxseed
-1 t chile pepper
-1/2 t salt
BBQ sauce:
-1 cups sun-dried tomatoes, soaked one hour
-1 T nama shoyu
-2 T apple cider vinegar
-¼ cup maple syrup
-½ cup olive oil
-½ t sea salt
-1/2 onion
-2 medium sized tomatoes
-1 t paprika
-1/2 cayenne
PROCESS
- Add the maple syrup and apple cider vinegar to the blender and pulse.
- Next add in the garlic, chili powder, miso, cayenne, cumin, salt, and chia seeds. Blend again.
- Add onion, tomato, sun-dried tomatoes, and corn. If you start having problems blending, just use a spatula to move the mixture down and make sure everything is getting blended.
- Pour this mixture into a bowl and clean out your blender.
- Grind sunflower and sesame seeds in a high-speed blender or coffee grinder.
- Add your ground seeds and nutritional yeast in with the mixture already in your bowl, and mix everything together with a spatula.
- In a small bowl, assemble your breading mixture by just tossing together your ground flax, chili pepper, and salt.
- To make our patties, use a large soup spoon to scoop it up, and form into a patty shape, coat each patty with your breading mixture, then lay it on your dehydrator sheet, or on a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Dehydrate overnight, or bake in an oven for about an hour at 200 degrees F, flip them, and then bake for one more hour.
- Finally, let's make our BBQ sauce. First add all the liquids - nama shoyu, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, olive oil, into the blender, as well as your spices - paprika, cayenne, and salt. Blend.
- Now add in your tomatoes, onion, and sun-dried tomatoes. Blend again.
HEALTH BENEFITS
- high in omega 3s
- great source of fiber
- good for immunity

Me too
I remember watching these videos when I was 12 wanting to go vegan so bad but was always too scared of judgement from my mom and fighting about the inconvenience considering she was buying all my food and making all my meals. Now 7 years later I'm happily five months vegan. Laura wherever you are I just want to say thank you for inspiring me.
THANK YOU FOR SAYING IN THE BEGINNING THAT THEY DONT TASTE LIKE CHICKEN MCNUGGETS. I know it's common sense that most raw food won't taste like the actual thing, but I hate when raw food-ers try to claim that it does when it doesn't.

Made these tonight and it's soooooo good! Just make sure your nuggets aren't too big, or it will still be mushy inside (as I've learned!) About 1/2 inch worked for me with my third tray. Her recipe made enough nuggets for 4 regular sized cookie trays...
You got the thumbs up for "when i dip, you dip, we dip." oh, and the recipe.

I made these today and they were absolutely delicious! But being the idiot that I am, I forgot to put in the nutritional yeast, they still tasted amazing so if you can't find nutritional yeast they still taste great without it :) And another thing, I made a half recipe and still ended up with at least 2 cookie sheets worth so i suggest to make a half recipe. never the less these were amazing and I highly recommend the recipe!

Thank you so much!! I can’t wait to try your fabulous recipes!!!
'Dont grind too hard!' gosh, it's just too easy xD
I love it... and I love fully raw Kristina ...I'm always so amazed at how many negative comments people make on videos that are supposed inspire someone...not necessarily everyone! The goal here is that people who have made living raw or vegan, (or any combination of it at all,) accessible to those in the world scared shitless to make such an enormous change! People should just say "Thank you!" .....Thank you for helping newbie’s see some light in transitioning from not so healthy life style to one that may be more gratifying. To each there own, take what you want from it....and gheesh... just enjoy! oh yeah... and say THANK YOU!!!!!!! XO
This series is the best thing that KZread has ever suggested for me. I'm vegan, not raw, but really excited to use these recipes. They all look amazing. And I appreciate the conversational tutorial style.
Lines you're awesome for: "When I dip, you dip, we dip." and "Don't grind too hard" LOL :) I'm sooo gonna feed this to my kids...thanks a bunch!!

Me and my family are starting to become vegetarian. We went from eating meat 3 times per week and are now down to one. We are not buying any meat this week. That is the reason we are looking for channels of vegetarian and vegan. Please forgive for this. but what is the difference between vegetarian and vegan?
@millieashworth844

Veganism is when you don't have animal products in your diet, like dairy but if you a vegetarian you only abstain yourself from meat so you can eat dairy products. I suggest searching more in Google. Have. A nice day 😄

Vegetarians don't eat meat or fish. Vegans don't eat anything to do with animals: dairy (milk, yoghurt, cheese, butter), eggs, honey. Vegans can eat dairy substitutes (almond milk, hemp milk, almond butter, soy yoghurt and all that other stuff, there are tons of milk substitutes), vegans can also eat plant based honey. As for meat substitutes and egg substitute products: they are not natural plant products, they are heavily synthetic and nobody recommends them, except for corporate people. The reason plant based honey is natural is because it is simply nectar, which honey-bees take from flowers, all natural from plants. Also milk substitutes are simply hemps or almond or rice or whatever you want to make it with, add water and then copy the process of how the cow makes milk from grass. And tadaa you have milk. Same with butter and cheese you can make from these. A lot of vegan videos on youtube can show how to make your own butter and cheese as well... Since vegans don't eat any animal products, we generally read the backs of everything we buy, until we're pretty familiar with animal and non-animal products. For example mayonnaise we can make ourselves because the stores use eggs for example to make mayonnaise. This was a long comment, hope you read it all :)
I love these! Favorite video of the week by far!
This series is amazing. Props to you

She said you could use an oven if you don't have a dehidrator, she has used one in other videos but not everyone has one. Dehidrating don´t count as a cooking method, i think, it still raw, so tecnically this recipe can be done completly raw, she is just giving an option so people can try it. P.S. I agree with you, still looks lush. :)

@itskourtkay

the dehydrator should keep them under 108 degrees (raw limit) but you have to be careful because strong dehydrators can get pretty hot. The oven at 200 is the next best thing. The actual food wont get to 200, but you wont be able to monitor as well as you would with the dehydrator. you aren't "baking" them in the oven, you're just warming them. Some people leave their oven open a crack to make it less hot too.

+Sophie Foster They may look similar when they first start growing but they're in fact two different species. Cress is the plant Lepidium sativum (related to mustard) while Chia is the plant Salvia hispanica (from the mint family). I hope this helps your future culinary creations. If you use cress seeds you won't be getting the same nutritional benefits :) x
I made these with my sister, so awesome! The best (not) chicken nugget ever!!! Thanks Laura!
Awesome recipe!!!
Your recipes look good, but most of them are incredibly impractical to make. You don't take into account the average household budget for groceries or the crazy amount of prep, cooking, and cleaning time needed. I think it would be great if you did some practical vegan recipes that average people can actually do.
How is it RAW if you bake it? That doesn't any sense. I love this channel, but half of the recipes posted are VEGETARIAN & COOKED somehow. :/ #weird
@Shoxpyre
10 жыл бұрын
It's still raw since dehydrating isn't cooking the food. It's just taking the water out. 200 degrees just happens to be the lowest heat on most ovens so this would take 2 hours dehydrating time that way. Most raw foodists that like making these types of foods, kale chips etc get a dehydrator
@mfcyeahyouknowme
10 жыл бұрын
Shoxpyre That explains this then (even though I still think that dehydrating at 200degs is KINDA still cooking), but what about a lot of the other recipes on RAW. VEGAN. NOT GROSS? There are many instances that are questionable and not realated to dehydrating. I guess it doesn't matter that much. Just curious. Thanks for the info.

It's a little hypocritical of you don't you think? You're using the internet just as we are.. So are you doing something miraculous for the hungry right now? I doubt it. I find it really annoying when people pull cards like that out of nowhere for a chance to be pretentious, paint themselves a pretty little pedestal with "I'm better than you" and stand up nice and tall on it. Hope you got it out of your system. lol
@mfcyeahyouknowme
10 жыл бұрын
Shoxpyre Seriously, I couldn't agree with you more. I just couldn't help but laugh because his ridiculous comment came out of nowhere! lol Pathetic attention seeking people like tim balero make the internet a dysfunctional place in terms of social interaction. Hey Tim, do you donate to charities to feed the hungry? Are you just trying to be 'Mightier than Thou' because you have nothing better to do with you time? Who said ANYTHING about starving people? Why are you on the internet? Why aren't you out there feeding the hungry right now? With you online, who is out there saving the world!?! LMAO You're argument is invalid, you are stupid and you need to get a life. #GoodBye #MrNobody
you can definitely omit a few ingredients (like chia seeds) if it's too expensive, but in general, I'd suggest heading over to the bulk section of your regular grocery store for nuts, sun-dried tomatoes, flax seeds, etc. They're a lot cheaper there :)
Love your videos!! Keep them coming :)

It counts as raw as long as you don't heat the food over 42 degrees celsius. (The temperature you have in your stomach in your body). That way you keep all the nutrients and the liquids can still evaporate.
So excited for the next recipe looks yummy
THANKS SO MUCH for this video. :^) Can't wait to try this. This past weekend I made yummy raw food delights. Love these videos!
I cant believe this was 10 yrs ago! Seems not too long ago i would eagerly wait for the next episode
You could definitely use black beans! They aren't technically raw, but if you're not worried about that, it's a GREAT alternative - full of protein and fiber and will probably taste really good.
I love this so much. It's not edited and we can see the real you. Thank you!!!
These are really interesting and I would give them a shot! They seem so flavorful. Thanks for sharing :)
im so sad so many of these vids are gone. loved them at the time...
In changing my ways of eating from extremely unhealthy to cutting out diet soda(the only kind I drank) and fatty foods and starting to juice and eat a LOT more raw foods I stumbled upon your channel. Great recipes and I will be trying a lot of them. As an aside I have to say that the production element of your videos are top notch and well done.I am hypnotized by Laura's voice and the music in the background.What is actually being played?Love it. Keep up the good work as I am now a subscriber.
Omg definitely making these!
Wow. They look really tasty and easy to make too!
