This episode is heavily inspired by the time of hope, the time where things were looking bright in our future, the time a new windows released, windows 2000 and windows ME, our little PC is traversing the universe in hopes of finding something, but what could it be? and will it find it?

You can support me on - ko-fi.com/retrovex this video took FOREVER to make, please let me know if the visuals are too distracting, if i over done it, and if any sequence is out of place or could've been done differently, I'm always happy to take in critical feedback! other than that I hope you enjoyed this rather big audio/visual experiment!! 💜💜💜💜💜 Thank you for everyone who donated 5:42 so far it means a lot and helps me greatly with making more videos like these!💜 59:00 👀

The visuals were far from distracting, the complete opposite. You created a feast for both the ears and eyes.

I really admire and respect that you've created this whole visual journey I KNOW how much work that is, but I'll be honest, personally I only watch about the first 60 seconds and then I'm minimizing and enjoying the ambience. it's quite frustrating actually that I can see that there's a lot of interesting visuals I'm missing, but I do not have the attention to sit there for an hour and watch it change I'm listening to ambient because I'm doing other stuff with my eyes lol - the Windows 95 one is perfect because I can just open the tab occasionally and the familiar floating PC makes me smile and relax :)

I love these tracks, they help me focus and clear my mind. I'd like to see more of this concept, perhaps with old video game consoles of the 90's and early 2000's. Playstation, Xbox and Gamecube have background music that deserves a soundscape.

My dude, your work is incredible. Your ambience gets me through hours of working and studying for exams. If I need a break? I stare at the screen and let myself chill with your insanely cool visuals. I don't think there's much to critique - your videos far exceed anything I could ever ask for. Thanks for all you do.
Requesting Playstation 1 (and later PS2) bootup sound versions of these. I think they would be sublimely chill.

You have no idea how helpful these ambient loops are to me. I play them quite a lot while working and it makes me think a lot of my childhood. Never stop doing this ✨

That there is the only reason I am commenting. Thanks for saying it. That game and my pc was all I had in 1999. Everything had been taken from me by a very bad person and I was just a teen, confused and angry about it all. It was just homeschooling to survive a long and unnecessary court battle that I was innocent of. That's where I met HalfLife, chat rooms, and Napster. 😢
My god that ending.....CAN'T WAIT

Hope you can make XP Ambient music! ❤❤❤
What a cliffhanger! Retrovex knows what many people have been eagerly waiting for ^^
Win XP was the trusted workhorse for over a decade, even past its successor. It should never have been replaced. This track brings back memories of a crisp clean desktop with a study hutch housing the new digital hardware straight out of the box. It was suddenly making our lives easier from calculating fractions to adding friends to a new email group
Back when a small spinning 🌎 in the right corner of the screen was something exciting to look at

XP was amazing!
I'm so hyped for the Windows XP ambience if that actually becomes a thing.
This is just as special as the 90s computer room one, I love it. The first track especially seems to evoke the uplifting optimism of the new millennium before 9/11 happened. I remember how different windows XP sounded and felt vs. 95/98. Love each though. I know this is all relative though, I was just a happy kid back then playing computer games on the family PC.
excellent transition to XP
Yess! Love this black hole scene
Love the ending.
Can't wait!

Wow this is WILD, definitely exceeded my expectations! Made sure I watched everything too.. wasn't expecting a full on epic movie but very much appreciate all of it! I really dig those multidimensional / layered chord progression sections (@10 - 15min.. and its equivalent near the end.. those are some deep level vibes I can personally relate with... and then there's the ending.. 🔥Perfect! @@RetrovexAmbient

This is amazing.
Ahh it's soothing, it's nice it's nostalgic, it's... 28:30 ...that is one...very hairy planet.
This is giving me heavy 2000-2002 vibes, the sounds and the graphics of this video capture that era of computers really well. Man I still remember installing windows 2000 and geeking out over the Mouse curser having a shadow behind it, that was HQ stuff back then lol
@jimjamz.

Not just the shadow but, for the first time, the implementation of interpolation on the cursor movement made it feel hardware-accelerated almost. You'll notice the difference between the movement and frames of this OS vs Windows 9X.

I was one of the lucky few who had an exceptional experience with Windows ME. I look back on that being one of my most favorite operating systems. I can't exactly recall why, but maybe that's about when I started really getting into using my own personal PC at home and taking over control on what hardware I could install on it and what kind of games I could play. Either way, this takes me back to the simpler times and reminds me that even with how chaotic and immediate life can be today, there are still ways to disconnect and recharge. Thank you for this series. I'm excited for what else you have in store for us!
The pinball sound effects make this absolutely perfect Waiting on the XP one~
Really looking forward to ME and XP :P
Beautiful ambient sound + video 👍👍👍
So hyped for Windows XP
the dedication and craft that went into creating this is beyond incredible. still trying to get my jaw off the floor
I love videos filling up my ultrawide monitor!
Amazing Retrovex!! This did not disappoint and that cliffhanger was incredible! Windows XP here we come!
that's inspire, keep going, and thanks to you 🪟
That dead-on boosted up good & relaxin' vauge memories when i was playing Windows xP :)
This was the first PC I had when I was a kid. My mom was a freelance worker and worked from her home office (talk about being ahead of the curve) and we were the first family that had a PC this new. What a time to be a 9 year old.
Utterly beautiful. *sheds tear* Can't wait for Win XP :)
I like this video. I really like Windows 2000. Thank you for making this video.
So glad I found your channel! Awesome work!
Man absolutely awesome job on this! The lonely computer’s journey through deep space! And the whole ending is fantastic. I’m thinking the computer was going through deep space, went through a portal and ended up at earth? And that’s how humanity got Windows 2000! I don’t know but I’m excited for the next one! 😁
Yeahh man this is amazing !!!
After millions of years, this computer will leave our galaxy... still funny from the fact that it gradually rose higher and higher with each video.
This entire vid is just defining sounds of childhood 😀
The pinball noises!
Aww, this making me feeling some kind of a strange mix of nostalgia and sense of a miracle. You've done it perfect, thanks a lot!
a new old one is out!
Windows X.P. was serene and high-quality :) 윈도우 XP. 조용하고 고품격이었어요 :)
That's a jump in variety of locations, hah-- and, with that cliffhanger... it's time to eXPerience the 2000s again. You're doing amazing stuff. 🧡
Amazing! I can’t wait to see the beautiful Windows XP episode 👍 Also maybe a Dreamcast or PlayStation adventure or how about an aviation themed one dedicated to all those beautiful aircraft that took us to amazing destinations but are sadly no longer with us or slowly rotting away in a boneyard?
39:00 Teenage me would have made a clip of this part and set it to play full-screen every time my computer booted. Absolutely beautiful. Retrovex, I think you might have just invented the Millenniwave genre, the ambience in this feels so perfectly sandwiched between the Millennium Bug when we thought planes were gonna fall from the sky, and the day in New York when they actually did. There should be a word for nostalgia for a time that felt like the future, but is now in the past, I love Sovietwave for that same kind of feeling and this absolutely nails it, well done.
everyone harkin on about xp...... I can't wait for vista/7
This is spectacular! Great job on all the effects! Super excited to see more! If possible, could an 80's or 50's one be done? Thankyou!

It has been forever since I saw flying toasters! YAY!! I love your work. Thank you for creating and sharing it.
These videos/soundscapes are incredible when used for sleep hypnosis and meditation. This and the Windows 95 soundscape in particular have really helped bring me back to joyful moments of discovery during my childhood. I'm on a journey to find my sense of purpose again and these videos have been so helpful. All I can say is thank you and please keep creating, Retrovex!

Everything about this is perfect. I didn't know this was what I needed in my life until now!
Thank you so much. I am meditating everyday with your music and it is the best for diving deep into myself. ❤thank you
These are amazing!
Holy! Xp? Oh i can't wait once you get win7!! You are making the best ambient scapes in existence!!!!!!
What a beautiful piece!
This is really excellent. Truly. This particular startup sound lent itself so well to your music. And big props for using the Space Cadet Pinball sounds at the start.
I live for these.
So keen for this season to be released !!!
This is truly beautiful! I was the one missing soundscape that I have been searching for!
Always love hearing stuff from way back, I loved going to computer shows, and still miss them when they DON'T happen.
Thanks for this! These videos have been the perfect companion for working night shift. The 95 retro one I keep going back too, but I love these other ones too!
This is one of my new go-to's to listen to while coding! Reminds me in some ways of the "9 Beet Stretch" project from about 20 years ago. Can't wait for the WinXP track to drop!
Bro this is so COOL! The animation and the story line of it and the music, just perfect :)
Love these windows themed ambience vids, please keep making them!
Amazing vision to bring this together. Thank you
My favorite YT music channel does it again
Ahhh. Like whalesong for Gen Y. Another ethereal banger, Retro.
Speaking as someone who used to host ambient/electronica music shows on community radio KRCL, KSER, and KSVR respectively, these are delightfully clever! Don't really need the graphics to be honest, but that's because I am from the old days of "wallpaper" ambient LPs and cassettes.
The visuals are stunning! Such a lovely mixture of dreamy cosmic beauty and whimsy ❤
WHOAAA!! The ending was great!! Didn't expect to get an action sequence! Very well done.
Thanks for making these nostalgic ambient versions! I love them all. And the visuals just keep getting better and better. I'd love to hear even more of the Windows sound bites incorporated in, like a subtle echoing Windows alert chime in the background for example. Would really get me even more immersed into that nostalgic soundscape. Great work!
