I missed pigeons today. They usually cross your path. Heartbreaking when you meander through the neighborhood streets and alleys that are folded or soon will be. History is lost of all those residents who once were refugees from the Korean War, and later, from the rural areas coming for work in the city. They built and made their 'homes' in these neighborhoods, while at the same time built the modern economy of South Korea. The city probably sees these neighborhoods as hazardous, unsanitary, unrepairable and too costly to modernize, which is probably true. Just think how a fire truck or ambulance finds its way in an emergency. I can't help but see all those fire extinguishers! On a lighter note, I was thinking about the mail carrier and his/her delivery job in those old neighborhoods. He/she must have a photographic memory to do this job! Thanks, take care.
