Thank you Norwood for not having ear-raping music during the sawing process like so many other manufactures have. This shows how much confidence you have in your product without special effects. I was able to concentrate on the features and I am very impressed with the design and quality of this machine. You certainly have my attention now.

I have a question. the cutting blade edges of the saw that you have on the market are designed for any type of wood. because I am interested in buying a sawmill of this type but to cut very hard wood. Thank you very much for your understanding and reply.

Using the log rest actuators sounds like a very relaxing and satisfying thing to do!

I'm trying to get ideas to make my own. This definitely looks the most professional and precision built one so far. Stacking those logs on the carriage was something to see. I'm betting it would be much cheaper to buy one of these than take a year and lots of money in materials and mistakes to Fab one up. And I'd definitely get the version with hydraulics and the feed system. 1/16 inch is pretty amazing. Great video excellent product

Yes it is. Must be a genius whoever thought this through & then made it. Work of art. Oh how i would love this right now, after hurricane Maria, my garden is starring to swell from red mahogany tree trunks. It's everywhere here in PR, so many old old trees blown down. Dear Santa, all l want for xmas is this mill.

Samuel Myles my grandfather sawed wood in his garage and there was always saw dust to throw in the small wood stove he had!

Definitely a fine mill. And the ability to upgrade accessories as my budget allows is a huge plus. The only thing I'd like to see addressed is the dust discharge. Maybe something to direct it more to the ground. Huge amount of blowback in any kind of wind. Definitely looking at this exact mill on the trailer platform.

Thanks Mike. The HD36 has gotten an upgrade; it is now the HD36V2 which features a sawdust exhaust port that is longer and directed down. It is compatible with chip extraction tubing. Well after looking at everything on the market and watching 100"s of sawmill videos and getting all the info packets on mills and all the options even as 1 manufacture of the other orange saw mill that is about a hour north of me I have decided on this HD36 already have my options ready to go , just waiting til the 1st of the year to make the call and get it ordered just under 2 weeks now , So I figure a couple weeks to get it here and then put her together I should have it up and going by the first part of Feb 2021

Current day aluminum, thanks to modern metallurgy is very strong. Putting a single edge or channel into a length of aluminum will give it significant torsion strength. Adding the dimpled holes doesn't take away from the strength either considering how tall the sidewall is. With six support feet, there is more than enough strength there to hold a single log at capacity.

Thanks. You are right, it can be very strong, In this case, the debossed bed rail is made of steel. The debossments add considerable rigidity when the rails and splice plates are mated together. These look like great mills, but the more I look into it, I'm coming to realize drying the wood and finishing it after this milling is the hard part. Need a good kiln and planers and jointers to get a good product.

I know this video is 3 years old, but by seeing it I think there is a definite flaw. Minor but it is there in my opinion. If where all the sawdust was discharged was round then a flexible pipe or tube could be used to keep most of the sawdust from flying back to the operator. Other than that, this looks like a top notch mill.

Oom man im just facinated with this toy im dreaming some day i will spend my time making lumber it will be really good of when im in my 50th relaxing and peacefull time

I thought the same thing! The price of one of these compared to the price of a woodmizer is shocking! I don't understand how one can do anything more than the other, or outlast the other? You can get the same motor on these that you can a woodmizer. If you kept it in a garage and out of the weather, I can't figure why all the frame work on this one would fail any quicker than a mizzer? Yet the price comparison is 10 time's the difference. These look like they are as solid as any other, and not that it should even matter what one looked like, I still think the design of these, are twice more appealing to me. I would probably go with this brand even if I had the money to buy either or.

Don't bother trying to buy one in Australia though. I ordered a HD36 with full hydraulic set up about 5 months ago and Norwood cancelled the contact with their australian distributor. Long time to wait for something only to have it get cancelled. Nice job Norwood!

Is it possible to leave the machine outdoor (backyard) for long time? It gets rust or not?

It is well protected with undustrial powder coat. So, yes, it last s well outsdoors. However, we still recommend a tarp. This is an investment - a tarp does not cost much.

How much space is needed for secure storage? I'd like all of the dimensions on the smallest possible trailer. Also, what kind of service manuals are available?

Hi The basic mill is 16 feet long. But then you can make it longer with extensions. They are about 8 feet wide. :-)
