“Norwegian Wood” - Melody In Drop D

Музыка

I just love Al Di Meola’s version of this tune. He plays it at the 6:20 min mark on the full interview on Rick Beato’s channel. Amazing stuff and very challenging for me. But the melody itself is easy. Then you can expand on it.
Happy Mother’s Day (there’s probably not one watching this channel) Ha!

Retired musician here (keys/vocals). I solely made money from my music career for over 20 years. I attest to the validity of this. Courteous people were always buying me cocktails. After 52 nights straight gigging and people buying me a new thing (gin manhattans), I developed pancreatitis. It scared the heck outta me. My doctor told me straight to stop. I did for a while. You know the rest of the story. Point is, a Musician’s lifestyle of late nights, easy access to late nite pizza and cocktails isn’t great for the digestive track. It’s a good thing you’re doing spreading gut health knowledge. You’re a good man Charlie Brown.

You, Otis and Tom are all putting out fantastic and much appreciated content. KZread became my classroom for all things musical years ago. I just wish it had existed when I first began playing guitar back in 1965. I'm merrily and gratefully ripping off ideas all over the place to continuously expand my own vocabulary on guitar. Thanks a ton for your contributions in this pursuit. And as for your comments regarding your health all I can say about that is the sooner we start to give a shit about ourselves the better off we are, assuming we follow through.

Thank you for that beautiful song. Addressing gut health, I guarantee if you stop consuming alcohol for a couple of months, you'll start feeling better. Alcohol causes gut inflammation, even in small quantities. One of the metabolic byproducts of alcohol oxidation is a chemical called acetaldehyde. When it builds up in your system, it makes you feel hung over. It is also a group 1 carcinogen. I know it's really hard to not drink because alcohol is so normalized in our culture, but cutting way back will make you feel better. Take care of yourself and feel better soon!

I have Crohn’s disease and have had three bowel resections and pain and suffering for DECADES. I get it now and coach people on lifestyle. So it’s actually easy. Disease is basically caused by micronutrients deficiency and overload of pollution and toxins. Vegetables for the most part Guthrie are not healthy! There is hardly any micronutrients but a ton of natural pollution and artificial pollution and the are all man made! What we evolved on was ruminate (red meat) and animal products. If you ate mostly high quality fresh local animal products and got rid of ALL grains, seed oils, vegetables. Eat meat, eggs, some RAw dairy if you can handle it and seasonal local fruit (not to much). Eat single ingredients foods. And of course like the previous comment no alcohol. You would feel amazing! I wasn’t sure if I should post this but we need you around here Guthrie and everyone is so blinded by what they think is healthy nowadays. Be well

The thing about the best Beatles melodies is, they can't be improved upon. They kept messing around until it was IT. Ditto with the arrangements. It's interesting that they called it "learning the song", like it already exists, they just have to find it. I think that's a good way to create.

Mr Trapp, from Artist Works to True Fire and all the amazing KZread vids, I’ve been a huge fan and dedicated student of yours for a long while. Never commented before but you asked…:) To see you finding your way into Meola’s “Norwegian Wood”, to hear you say you slowed it down to hear and see what he was doing (as Ive done ten thousand times with your vids) is an inspiration. Your enthusiasm and passion for the guitar is infections, your virtuosic playing is a gift. You're a hell of a teacher and phenomenal musician. Thank you.

Guthrie, I think people are mesmerized by your realness and fascinated by your playing. You are very smooth, to the point where it's hard to follow you slamming through the neck and making beautiful sounds. I know the basic fundamentals are boring but people are as advanced as you may give us credit for. Inversions are second nature to you but it can be confusing and frustrating to the layman. Even the concept of triads and the may variations of these sound easy but the plethora of options can overwhelm. Just a couple of thoughts. Keep up the great stuff and your channel.

Well said Guthrie. "All things in moderation except Love and Music." That's my philosophy. After almost fifty years as a full time Guitar player, I've come to that conclusion, the hard way. The accumulated wear and tear on the hands, WILL, not maybe, take it's toll on all of us. So I offer this bit of advice that saved my hands. I only eat 'Grass fed, free range beef'. And daily add a tablespoon or so of Free range, grass fed ' Beef Gelatin'. Sometimes labeled as 'Beef Collagen' . It's fucking magic. Ted Nugent, and Chuck Norris also praise the benefits of adding Beef Gelatin, 'Collagen' to their diet. It's got to be free range and grass fed. Anything else is shit. I get mine off Amazon 3lbs for fifty bucks from brand "Aspen Naturals'. Don't believe me, I'm only a Guitar Player. Do your own 'deep dive', you'll thank me later...

I bought the vinyl and CD. The vinyl should come with a free download code. The waiting is painful :(
