Well done on the good knee Watto! 😂 yes I have one good one and Jill has one good one, but not sure for how much longer! 😂 Have to say we didn’t have to pay for parking or wee wees all week and we visited some pretty impressive places. 9 degrees is bikini weather for us! Hate to also mention that the wine is £1 a bottle and decent spirits are about £4.20 for 70CL. really could save a ton of money by living there. Sadly Brits can only be in the EU for 90 days of any 180. you can’t even move from country to country every 90 days you have to be stamped leaving the EU completely or face very severe consequences. Have an amazing weekend both. Sending all our love xx

Lol, I enjoyed meeting Marvin - he looks very reliable! The cable car ride looks like a fun way of getting up the mountain. Too bad it was a bit cloudy and cold up there but it gives some good incentive to hike fast. It's interesting how the weather can be so deceiving at the mountaintops. Loved hearing the cow bells - definitely nothing like that in the mountains in Canada! Looks like an amazing hike in the mountains. Have a great day you two!

Hi Nick and Jill! Very misty in the mountains! Wow, the scenery is stunning and the cable car ride was so steep and high. Oh... err...not good if you have vertigo! It was great that when you got to the top the mist cleared and you could see for miles. Loved the beautiful cows with their cowbells...and the donkeys! Lovely spot for a nice refreshing San Miguel. Your sense of fun and enthusiasm is contagious. A very enjoyable video - thank you! ❤❤

Morning Jill and Nick (Hatman/Sweet Cheeks)…. Now that’s an Air BnB with a view …. Marvin… a paranoid car ?? Good temperature for walking ..but not what you’d expect for Spain in June …Love a cable car ….Stunning views …..till the cloud level dropped … today’s Ads… loo roll…..hmmm 😮 ..nice link into the meat balls maybe ?? …Actually looked tasty. Life in Yorkshire prepares you for 2 degrees and snow in shorts … We never got used to that to honest. That’s a hell of a vista off that trail…. Loving this.. Just you two and the Cow bells ….And a place to buy beer … Did you for a moment think you’d gone to heaven ??..Mud ..mountains and a brilliant descent…. Absolutely brilliant ! You might have guessed I'd love this one, oh Wow ... I can't believe how many times I was saying wow all the way through. So nice to have a drive through Potes at the start, brought back some wonderful memories for me 😍 Like you, we were basking in beautiful sunshine at the bottom but hiding from hail stones at the top, though we were nowhere near as high as you. To see snow on mountain tops is like the icing on the cake ... literally haha Great idea to get the cable car up and so cheap ! No wonder it was packed ! You'd think some Spanish entrepreneur would be selling woolly jumpers & leggings at the top ! Albondigas looked yummy. But those views wow absolutely stunning and they just went on and on ... beautiful. Seemed like a good path too with lots of varied terrain. Loved the cow bells. Eagles ... fabulous oh and donkeys too. Haha brilliant to even get a gate of the week and,and a bridge twirl 😆 Fabulous day then to go back to such a wonderful Airbnb must have made it just perfect... Loved it .. can't wait to see the next one 😍🤗🤗 xx

Jill, you are as crazy as Jojo in your shorts and its only 7ºc! Awesome vies as you ascend and once you are at the top. The meatballs....mouth watering. Thank goodness you brought your thermals Nicholas. 2ºc eeek! A great hike at the top. Moooo 🐮Love the sounds of the bells. Taking me back whne we were on the Camino. The rocky escarpment is amazing. The sun was coming out, the views from the Refuggio looked amazing. I felt we were with you on this walk. Aww Donkeys aren't they gorgeous. What an amazing hike that was. Northern Spain looks so beautiful! What a lovely AirBNB you had with the most incredible views, wow. 2 or 3 degrees at the top and with shorts lol! You two are brave. The cable cars up the mountain look so fun and STUNNING views, wow. Mmm those fries look good Jill! Great combo bite! Nice hike up!! Above the clouds - so amazing!! A beer at 5000 feet, I love it. What a perfect place for a drink at the picnic table. Cool to see the eagle. Aweee I love the donkeys. So friendly and sweet. Nice it got a bit warmer, 9 degrees is better than 2 degrees lol! Another amazing adventure you guys :)

Meatball french fry, combo bite, you cannot beat that. But the beer halfway through that hike probably comes close. Pretty amazing, taking the cable car up and hiking back down. And meeting some donkey friends as well. Awesome.

Really decent food as well. I’ve kind of tarred Spain with a hearty food over quality brush in previous visits but on this occasion the quality matched the generous offering. I think those donkeys had been getting into some scrapes on that range. they have mastiffs to guard the cows on those ranges and I suspect the donkeys might have ventured too close to the cows and got into it with the mastiffs. that would explain some of the bites and injuries they had sustained. really friendly though!

Oh wow 😮 That view on the cable car ride is amazing! It would seem a bit scary 😨 Good thing the clouds noved in so you could enjoy your neal without that distracting view 😅 Nick cracks me up, the legs will have to freeze 😂 The scenery on that hike is stupendous!! I seriously wish my knees worked like Jills. I was thinking of that song right before Jill starting singing it! That trail down just kept better and better 😊 Fantastic video! I loved it!! More cow bells please 🔔

What an amazing place to stay, it must have been awesome to wake up to these views every day. The cable car up and a hike down sounded a dam fine idea to me but wow dam chilly too. Looking at those views I think I would have preferred a much slower ride and I bet those meatballs and chips went down well mind - that combo bite looked amazing. The value of the trip and food was really good but the star of the show were those views - astonishing! I take tablets for my knees every day religiously and (tough wood) have no trouble at all but 3 years ago I could not walk a mile on flat ground, without having to come back home in agony with knee pain. I did a video on the tablets which I had just stated taking (and still do) - check it out :o). What a place to have Dos San Miguel and take about a bench with view - wow! You must have felt back home in the muddy section but loved the wildflower meadows and if Carlsberg made brilliant days out - that must have been one of the best of them! Cheers Alan

Gosh Alan, will check that video out. we do overuse our knees a lot on our work too as well as on the hikes that we do, a tablet might be the answer. its mostly descents that I suffer with and the poles certainly help with that and as a last resort I will strap them up. Certainly didn’t tire of those views from the terrace, if i could up sticks and move I 1000% would do it tomorrow.

thanks guys 🙏 you would love it there, so much variety from Cities to coastlines to hidden gems. Marvin was a beauty, we were the first people to ever drive him! he had features like “steering assist” and “auto park” but we were too scared to use any of that. his constant beeping when speed limits change or when your close to anything got a little annoying by the end of the holiday! Almost gave myself a heart attack running past those school groups. not only were we out of practice ascending anything other than a staircase we were running up gulping in freezing cold air! Hope you guys have an awesome weekend 🍻

Hi Nick and Jill love your cabin looks fabulous. The mist on the mountains looked beautiful although a bit nippy especially for shorts 🥶 . Great views from the cable car although I would have given it a miss . Great to get above the eagles Dave always gets misty eyed up the mountains as he used to enjoy skiing ⛷️. I am carefully watching.. wow deep fog the cable is running through quite fast. You are very observant Ms Kayak we are usually away for our anniversary or my birthday but that’s September we are lucky enough this year to go away twice this one was just before Nick’s birthday we will be going back for our 10 year anniversary in September! Those views were out of this world😳 I don’t think I would ride that gondola though, but it looked lovely in the valley! No matter where ya go there is always gate if the week. Yep those fries looked good and I’m about to hit up KFC for some😂

Loved the teleferico! Not sure about meatballs and chips, good hearty mountain food though! Jill's voiceover sold them to me! Super value for money! Awesome seeing the snow and hearing the cowbells and mooo! I was wondering when Sounds of the Music would get belted out! Sheer verticality! Just over £17 each, superb. What a great view there, can you see why you want to move there!

I still have firmly in my memory the time I went to a “posh” Spanish restaurant and spent good money on canned pork balls. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of beef on those balls, first time fried those chips too so a win, win. The sauce was definitely homemade too! Really missing Spain, we’ll be going back in a couple of months but any research into planning to retire there just gets worse and worse. Even non EU places like Switzerland you can’t stamp out of Europe into and then sneak back in. The penalties for spending more than 90 days in any 180 are super severe. Hopefully things will change if Spain can fight the European Courts but things look grim atm.

I tried counting the people in that cabin - looked more than 20 to me. That would freak me out. Shame about the clouds- nice thought, it was blue behind the thick white blanket 🤣! Perfect attire 👌 - and I am sure you didn't notice the cold. Save your breath Nick...the walk will warm you up. Loving the area, the cow bells, the snow peaks and the green grass. Oh to be 45 again..the knees I mean🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣! I was hoping there would be a gate 🤣! Take the stage Jill, you deserve to be in the limelight. Absolutely stunning. Wow. Your accommodation in Spain looks gorgeous. What an atmospheric cable car ride and rather chilly because of all the naughty clouds. You got such a stunning view and a great position in the cable car. A lovely meal with a fantastic view. Good job you're not afraid of heights. I had jelly legs when I did something similar in the Dolomites! The walk you took at the top flooded very pleasant and very beautiful. Poor scabby donkeys lol.

Hi Nettie 🤭 yes Nick made sure he was well positioned for filming whereas I was like a sardine in the middle but to be fair where ever you were there was smashing views! Felt great until I looked up when almost at the top and noticed a set of ladders attached to the ceiling 😳 gave me a little tummy flutter 🤣 Have a lovely weekend ❤️

this started out my sunday morning just fabulously and well, filled with envy. 🤣 marvin was seemed to be an excellent steed for your adventures. the cable cars look awesome. mr sl isn't a fan of heights or elevation for that matter, so things i probably won't do unless i ditch him for the ride. i'm a fan of albondigas. running from school children above the clouds and fancy free (and maybe a little chilly jilly)! salut! those donkeys def looked rabid, good thing you cleaned up. 😂clearly i had fun on this day with you two. big hugs! 🛴❤

Thank you Steven 🙏 yes I could have sat at that Rifugio all day to be fair! We should have got another! The food there looked good too! It’s so mountainous over there every valley seems to have a very different weather system. If you’re prepared to travel about an hour in any direction you can find sunshine, rain, fog and even snow even in the summer! Lots of micro climates that never seem to budge off the valley they are in! The next hike is Jills all time favourite and it’s certainly in my top equal three. To be fair it’s the hike we probably started the youtube channel for, we wanted a better way to preserve some amazing hikes, I think we’ve done it! It’s nice we finally have decent weather in the UK now! 🎉

Stunning views on your hike, and nice to see contrasting landscapes. Although not sure about the 14 degrees in June, those are mid winter temperatures for me in Australia so that's why I escape to Europe!

Well that was brilliant 😍 The scenery was just incredible. Personally I think I’d have done the route in reverse if that was possible? My problem is I have dodgy knees and coming down always seems harder. How long was the total walk, in time? Super cheap. Would have been 4x more expensive if you were in the Austrian alps 😳 2° In shorts Jill 💪🏼😂

We have done that route before and Jill was keen to do it in reverse, we both suffer with our knees on the descent! Think it was our eagerness to get to the cafe at the top that made us repeat in the same direction. took us about four and a half hours to get back down but we did spend quite a while in the refugio and then we stopped in silence for a good long time in the wooded section in the hope of hearing or seeing you know what! yes Austria can be a bit pricier but I’d say still way cheaper than the UK! don’t think we were envisioning 2C in Spain in June, im glad we packed all the thermals and layers, wasn’t expecting to use them!

Maybe you didn't hike with bears, but you got to hike with cows ;-)

This Shengen rule post Brexit is an absolute nightmare for us. Can’t even stamp out into Switzerland and step back in by car. We really are not allowed to spend more than 90 days in 180 n Europe. I’m not giving up yet and hoping for change but at some point we will turn our attention to Canada..

We have explored Lochness when we first met almost 20 years ago! It’s a long way from where we live would take about 10 hours to get there (takes us less than that to get to Spain surprisingly) but maybe one day we will return! will try and dig out some pics from our lochness trip to send you 👍❤️

Anything over about 3C is short weather for me. it did get a little chillier on this day than that. Jill did well though, she is more likely to not wear shorts till 10C.
