Northern Lights captured in Arizona: See for yourself ✨

An intense solar storm has the northern lights gracing the skies farther south than usual.
A blast of superhot material from the sun late last week hurled scorching gases known as plasma toward Earth at nearly 2 million mph, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said on April 24.
Earth felt the brunt of the storm Sunday, according to NOAA, with forecasters warning operators of power plants and spacecraft of the potential for disruption.
Auroras were reported across parts of Europe and Asia. In the U.S., skygazers took in the sights from Wisconsin, Colorado, California, New Mexico and even Arizona - mostly a reddish glow instead of the typical green shimmer.
Robert Ray, a professional photographer in Eager, Arizona, captured pictures from his backyard.
"I yelped for joy," he said. "It was a bucket list for me to be able to photograph the Northern Lights. I always thought to photograph them I'd have to travel to the north - Iceland, Canada. Never did I think I'd be able to capture them here in Arizona.
Stacy Colavito from Queen Creek also didn't expect to see lights. In fact, last month, the Colavitos headed to Fairbanks, Alaska seeking the northern lights and captured colorful pics of the auroras from there.
While in Alaska, Sandy, a self-proclaimed science geek, learned how to read solar data to tell if conditions were good for auroras to appear where you are.
A Facebook group and an app indicated the solar event would impact Arizona Sunday night
"I thought if these hold steady when it gets dark here in Arizona, I think were going to be able to see them here," she said.
She and her husband headed to Apache Junction and low and behold, the auroras appeared around 8 p.m. Sunday night.
"It was truly a jawdropping moment," Colavito said.

That means that magntic field is weaker and the pink color means that radiation is interacting with lower atmophere, thats no good at all.

I always try to imagine people way back in the day seeing this, then the comedic way they’d try to explain it like things we know of today. ‘The sky lit up green and purple!’ ‘That’s ridiculous get away!’ It happened with Yellowstone ‘there’s a lake of deep blue, yellow and bright red’ No one believed them until they got more explorers out there.

As An Arizonian, Sadly I couldn't see this because I fell asleep but people tell me what they saw which was cool I'm surprised that the Nothern lights were actually seen in Arizona.

Just in AZ, was it not visible in other equally low latitudes across the nation? Why am I not hearing about this elsewhere?

Its possible and happens from time to time. To my knowledge a geomagnetic storm was not announced. There was powerful and brief flux event caused by a CME a couple years back (also in May of 2021) knocking out some of my radiosensing tools. That event also caused skin anomalies. Adding insult to injury I was getting X-rays at the time the CME was likely interacting with Earth's atmosphere which affected my vision for 3 days. The skin anomalies included a large red dot that developed on the second knuckle of my left hand's middle finger, that remitted 20 days later. A similar smaller red dot formed on my left hand's index finger recently, it has yet to remit. Additionally a small new freckle formed on the back of the same hand despite very limited outdoor time that all coinciding with elevated geomagnetic activity two years apart.

Magnetic field weakening due to a 12,000 to 16,000 pole shift cycle. It’s also the cause of global warming. Humans aren’t responsible, that’s what they (elites) want us to think.

WAKE UP PEOPLE! It is a sign that the earth's magnetic field is weakening and will collapse and a normal solar flare will wipe out the earth's electrical grid for decades to come. 3d bunkers is my wish.
