Northern Cape sisters use their R350 to kick-start their poultry farming business.
Warrenton, in the Northern Cape has its newest poultry farmers, thanks to the covid-19 SRD R350 grant. Bongiwe (28) and her sister Nqobile (21) are using their parents' backyard to grow chickens which they tend to for six weeks before they are ready to go on sale. The young women shared their story and business journey with SASSA communications team in September 2022.

They saved until they had enough to start. I'm adopting them like I did with some young girls and boys kwa Nongoma. Ndisabathandi ke khona! I love girls in agriculture. Pambili mantombazana. They did not use the R350 for WEAVES like all the shallow kids do.
