North Texas Freeze Damage Update - Plant Hardiness Zones Map

In this quick video, Ken explains the plant hardiness zones map and how Village Green uses it to determine if a plant may survive the type of deep freeze North Texas saw in February 2021.
North Texas (including Dallas) is in Zone 8, which averages low temperatures in the 20°F to 10°F degrees range.
Our recent winter storm was epic, and we saw temperatures as low as 0°F degrees. This extreme cold plunged North Texas into the equivalent of what you would find in Kansas!
Will your plants survive this 'Biblical' freeze?
Unfortunately, this is not an exact science. What we see in the field varies by plant, and in the end, only time will tell.
We use the plant hardiness zones map as one of our first steps to diagnosing any plant-related problems.
