@@lion5452 it is look it up. Pesticides leech in the water. The more pesticides used the more contaminated the fruit. Look past Google search engine responses. They are not always empirical.

@@lion5452 - I’ll have to do a little research. I know there is the “dirty dozen” of most polluted foods, but truthfully, we try to grow as much of our food as we can and look for family and friends that have similar ways of sustainably growing their produce to either support them by buying from them, or trading/bartering for what we need…

The 2 biggest things are to make sure the soil that you plant the bush in is an acidic soil (ph of about 4.5 to 5.5 is ideal). Our North Texas soil here where we are is more alkaline and not conducive to planting blueberries right into the ground… and the second is the same… the acidic soil… if you get that right, the bush should do very well. Water regularly (if you don’t get rain) and if possible, use rain water to water them…

We have 8 blueberry bushes and they’re all different. I know for North Texas, we typically want to plant Rabbiteye and/or Southern Highbush varieties. I believe you need to have at least 2 bushes of different varieties… I know our earliest berry producer is a southern Highbush named “Jewel”.

Thank you for your feedback Michael... this video was just to share the joy of our first blueberry harvest in our North Texas garden this year. It wasn't intended to educate or provide important information. Must every video provide those for you? Can you not enjoy a simple video where someone shares the bounty of the work that they've put in over years? We do have other more educational and informative videos about growing blueberries here in North Texas on our channel. We hope you have a fantastic and blessed day!
