I am really excited about the TimeLapse features on the GoPro Hero 10 Black. I'm creating #nightlapse videos and have never created these types of videos/images before. I'm so glad that #gopro #goprohero10 has made this type of videography even more accessible to small content creators like me.
I shot this video using a GoPro Hero 10 Black from 19:30 (7:30 pm EST) to 21:30: (9:30 pm EST) on November 26, 2022 at Milton Elementary School Courtyard in Milton, Vermont. I was trying to line the tree up with the North Star and was slightly off. I still wanted to use the video and think it still looks cool. I wanted to create a star trail effect around the tall pine tree in the courtyard. I work at MES/MMS as a science teacher and love this courtyard as my classroom overlooked it for many years and we supervise our kiddos during recess out there. It's a special place to all who know it.
I used RAW photographs over the video nightlapse in the GoPro. To do this, I converted the original files into .dng files using a file converter, and edited the roughly 256 RAW .dng photos in #adobelightroom Adobe LightRoom. From Adobe Lightroom, the photographs are converted into jpeg files (Adobe will export them as jpegs) and the jpegs are imported into #finalcutpro Final Cut Pro where they are converted into a video format in Final Cut Pro's timeline.
For this video, I took the JPEGs from the Timelapse and used an app called "Star Stacker". Star Stacker allows me to stack each image cumulatively creating the effect you see in this video. I love changing perspective of time and scale from what our ordinary senses can detect. I am super pleased with the outcome of this video
