Great to see them smiling, looking happy and seemingly well-fed. They’re dressed well, they act cheerful, I don’t see any issues so far. This is what happens when country is so sheltered and isolated, we hear all these terrible roomers but in reality people are people and most of them wanna lead normal lives.

Hahaha your funny. "Happy" in a country where literally everyone lives below the poverty line and the struggle to not starve is greater than anywhere else without the chance to escape. Of course people who have "great things" for the country will have more privileges. People are so fast to shit on western countries and newer generations… but our kids do still do such things and have fun without their phones! But a lot of people don’t want their kids to do so anymore… they actively put the to or a phone in their toddlers control just so they don’t have to watch them… that’s the real issue. Children themselves would love to be able to do such things and most of them do if they can. And at least our kids don’t starve and face death if they let dust collect on the picture of our presidents…

Propaganda goes both ways, plus most of the west just learns about north korea through US tourists and government officials. Jaka Parker's videos give a real different view of the DPRK because he wasn't restricted like tourists were because he served the Indonesian embassy so they trusted him. Never heard of anyone needing to wear red pins, unless you're referring to the parliament of north korea or the soldiers and local guides stationed to escort tourists.

However, usually the information we are getting is from the poor side. The people living in Pyongyang seem to have pretty decent lives. Of course their freedom is still heavily restricted and still want out. For example on the wealthy side a lady was a dance instructor and had decent food everyday. Her daughter talks about having burgers 3 times a week. On the poor side you got people eating grass. Then you got the people that the people that are in the internment camps treated like animals and beaten all the time. Same country with three different qualities of life.

It's more of like outdoor education that you'd see in US highschools too. This is a rare sight in the US too. Propaganda on both sides make it hard to tell what's real or not, like I saw a video of rural north korea and people were saying some dude who was wearing a camo shirt was a soldier (despite not wearing any actual military uniform) and someone intentionally mistranslated a common dish (that's eaten in SK as well) as "leaves" to make it seem like they had no food. Honestly rural NK seems way better than US rural and US tribal reservations. Dunno about urban NK, but they seem to have fairly normal cities but it's impossible to tell because a third world city can look just as impressive as a first world one.

As if american teens live this way. And many north korean teens do live this way. Honestly, even leaked videos of north korea's rural regions look way better than US, SK, chinese, and western rurals. People propagandize this so much. I saw someone intentionally mistranslate a common korean dish (that's eaten in SK as well) as "leaves" to make NK look backwards.

Western countries have too much propaganda, what is talked about on the internet is not in accordance with what is happening in the real world, your life has too many lies and it's easy to judge something new even though you haven't felt the truth, stop being the world's policeman, stop being a prosecutor for other races and countries!

No. He was able to have way more liberties than foreign tourists and was allowed to live in pyongyang because he served as an Indonesian government worker at the embassy. Basically, tourists aren't trusted due to historical high tensions but the DPRK had no issue with this guy because he worked for a foreign government (Indonesia) that has neutral relations with north korea. Anything you find here is the closest thing to actual footage of the everyday life in north korea.
