If you wonder why he can walk around freely: He is a foreign diplomat from Indonesia. He works for the embassy there so he didn't have to be with a government tour guide. He basically lives there. Moreover, Indonesia has a pretty good relationship with NK since we are not part of NATO and has built a special diplomatic relationship since 1955 called the Jakarta-Beijing-Pyongyang Pact.

As a South Korean, I find it ironic that it is the closest country but the hardest to go. And thanks to this video, it was fascinating to see the daily lives of the people of Pyongyang in North Korea closely.

I am not a Korean but I know a friend who lives in a country of constant civil wars where many national races want their own countries and fight for it. So I don't think unification is a good solution. BUT I really hope the people in NK will find peace and freedom. Well, every one deserves freedom. Not anarchy though

@@jameswilson2562 I'm not sure if your example is relevant to Korea since the land occupied by North and South Korea used to be under one country for at least several centuries and plus, Koreans consider themselves to be part of the same ethnic group

Pyongyang is where the DPRK's government and military officials, aka the small elite of the country, lives. It's still rather poor compared to Western cities, but it's in no way representative of the struggle the vast maturity of North Koreans have to go through on a daily basis.

So horrible traffic jam! You have to be so carful not to be hit by a car! Damn capital of that beautiful and rich country!

Everyone's a little bit smarter on the internet when they have access to it, own things, eat regular meals, and don't get imprisoned for breathing wrong like people do in North Korea.

@@kateemma22 The US and its allies killed 20% of North Korea's population during the Korean War, and they've imposed harsh sanctions on the country ever since, even after most other Eastern Bloc countries were destroyed and North Korea was left without its main trading partners. The West forced North Korea into isolation. And no, in North Korea you don't get killed for minor stuff like "breathing wrong", don't be ridiculous.

Cars (specificially tires and horns) make up a large percentage of the noise in cities. Not many cars there in NK haha.
