It seems like the person who is doing the suing is doing this for an easy paycheck. The suer found an easy target (the apartment owner), and the lawyer agreed for a paycheck. A lot of people like to sue for bullshit reasons just to get money. And this news agency went in to get the story because they need content to keep their news agency's operation going.

The City attorney is a public official. himself along with every city, county, state & federal public officials are in charge of administrating our tax paying dollars for many issues. For this particular reason, city officials are in charge of contracting police agencies to police around the neighborhood. "Protect & serve" is their motto That's their job. Policing doesn't concern the landlord.

I live here and it’s not there fault. They have tried to stop you can’t keep them out. There are 6 different gangs. Once these gangs leave other gangs will take over. The manager has no control it’s not her fault. This happens on the property.

I would not want to work there as a security guard 🤣 I doubt the residents would want their rent to increase to add extra security measures.

I grew up in this area went to Madison middle school and grant gang activity isn’t just in those apartments/projects it’s alll up in down them streets

The management in my building is on it with who lives here! Everyone over 18 is entitled to submit their ID to the property owner. Backgrounds checks are run also !

This is fishy. There’s a gang problem in every other city. You can literally walk downtown or single out an apartment building with graffiti in Pasadena and report the same thing. If they aren’t tenants there’s nothing the owner can do. That lady then complains about the lighting. Why didn’t she call the police if she saw “gang members” recruiting by the school? I think she has drama with the owner or the city is trying to do something with that land. There needs to be an investigation on this story, who reported it and why councilman Paul Krekorian is targeting these landowners. The city has sued them before and in the article the police and city office was aware of these problems since 2010.

I don't live far from there. Some of the gang members live there in that building, that's why this building is being targeted, they use it as a sort of home turf. The easiest stuff to do would be more lights, require all gates have automatic locks, and get new management. Also it might be hard but evict the families that have gang members, and bar them from ever stepping foot in the premises again even to visit friends or other family.

I do not befriend any of the people that live here at the apartment complex. My friends are not here where I live. I already know the area is rife with some really nasty people, desperate prostitutes with unwanted kids, in huge trouble with the law and there is drug activity too. I am a hard working person and have to deal when such filth gets in my way. I do not talk to them, I do not look at them. Tonight one of them loitered in the area where everyone has to enter or exit my apartment building. Vile people, really vile.

What in the he'll does anyone expect the owner to do?! It's ridiculous to expect owners to do get shot or life threatened by gamgmembers? LAPD Crash unit are aware of all the hoods and hot spots and they are the ones who have to enforce and provide public safety.

The property owners do have sone fault here. They should have no loitering and 10pm no noise in their lease. If its dark they should add lights and cameras to help make all tenants feel safe.
