Proud of this UNC team. Wasn’t ranked in top 25 basically all year. Early on in season either won by 20+points or lost by 20+points. Lost big games vs Purdue Tennessee Kentucky Wake Forest Miami stayed humble and figured out what works for us. Everyone written off UNC & ACC by then. After that figured out just how to win games and close games out with W’s vs Louisville(2xs) Virginia Clemson Virginia Tech dook. iykyk

I agree. And I want to mention I know how hard it is for them to ref these fast paced games and respect them for that but that Baylor game was just blatant and very obvious to any eye on TV. My 73-year-old dad who doesn't really care about much about watching the tournament watch that game and came to me and said that game seemed awfully weird about the referees calling everything one way. Normally he doesn't care and he's not Tarheel fan either

No kidding, re, your last sentence. Juzang and Jacquez were 0-11 to end the game, with the latter missing a good handful of close-ins, with bad banks off the board or the ball dancing off the rim. He wasn't able to practice so he had an excuse, but Juzang was atrocious except for his two or three early shots. He needs to work on his handle, because with his one-on-one mindset, he tends to fumble the ball away.

@@BrooklynEwms32LAKERS You're obviously referring to Bona, Bailey, and Andrews coming in -- a backup point guard! -- with hopefully Watson staying. I'm looking to what McClendon can bring after recovering from his injury as well as Etienne. I just found out that Jaquez is probably staying because he wants to attend college with his sister who's a star basketball player herself. So the team should be loaded. As far as coach's lack of adjustment for Love who hit those two consecutive high-arching three-pointers, I'd agree except for the scouting report against him which showed that he was 1-6 / 1-4 / 5 points against Baylor. During the year, he was .372/.378 in 2- and 3-pointers -- his three-point % was actually pretty good, and he was UNC's most prolific 3-p shooter. So coach needed a more detailed scouting report, but those two shots were undoubtedly prayers. I'll be rooting for UNC or maybe Villanova to win it all. Not a Coach K fan...

One of the better games UCLA has played all season. I hate when the Bruins lose but when they cannot beat a team like UNC I feel less sad because UNC played a fairly clean game, intense and well prepared. These storied programs carry much history and the programs this year were both well coached and ready. Congrats to the Tar Heels and to my beloved Bruins, if Jacquez and Juzang return, and are in healthier shape than this year, perhaps the 2023 NCAA championship awaits.

Caleb Love took over in the final minutes but don't that all of his threes distract you from the true play of the game. If Armando Bacot doesn't make that save to tie the game at 64, UCLA has all the momentum and probably win this game. In these last few rounds, Bennedict Mathurin, Bacot, and Caleb Love are my favorite players coming into this years draft. 😊

He played like an idiot. Had one of those prayers not been answered, the Carolina fans would be crucifying him today. There would be calls to fire the coach for leaving him in the game. Instead, UNC fans are bursting with pride talking about how this is their favorite Carolina team. Funny how sports work. A scrub who launches 10 threes with a guy draped all over him in a span of 10 minutes during a regulation basketball game is being celebrated as a “hero” with “killer instinct”. Carolina won this game, not because of an incredible performance by that guy. Actually, Carolina couldn’t establish anything offensively against a tactically superior defensive opponent. They won because they were a superior rebounding team. Carolina is one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country. They clean up the offensive glass like UCLA suffocates offenses. It was a few rebounds that won Carolina the game. The rebounds negated Love’s imbecilic shot selection.

Tarheels, looking like Tarheels. Hustling, playing good defence, helping each other, staying positive. And let's face it, UCLA is a very well coareched team, good range, a good half court game, and Tarheels hit 3 pointers in the last 1:10 that they had to hit. UCLA missed eithers. And Tarheels made their freethrows down the stretch. So very fundamental basketball. If you notice UCLA had better numbers in many aspects of the game, but the last 1:00 Tarheels ourplayed them. It was tied at 1:16 or so. Tarheels hustled when ball was free, to gain control, didn't back down. They worked as a unit, all 5 on the floor. and a remarkable coach and everyone else on the bench. So great win for Tarheels!
