A few years ago I visited all the battlefields of the overland campaign....I found the North Anna battlefield one of the most interesting and under visited. I was there in the middle of the day for a few hours and only saw one other person all day....good setting to really immerse yourself in the battlefield story and really feel it come to life. Thanks for the battle walk Chris .

I have a few buttons found at one of Lee's north Anna camps I've done videos on. His V on the second night of the Overland campaign was a amazing tactic.

Thank you Chris, we're sad we didn't get to come out there with The Trust since Virginia is slow in opening back up. Keep up the great tours!

Enjoyed this video very much. I visited the battlefield some years ago and aside from a family having a picnic lunch at the park entrance had the place all to myself. Hope I can make it back some day while I can still walk battlefields. Another book I might recommend is Mother May You Never See The Sights I Have Seen about the 57th Massachusetts which had the misfortune of being in Ledlies's brigade at the North Anna and then later at the Crater as well.

One of my favorite battlefields, so much left to save off to the east of this park, the rest of the inverted V, the point to the southeast. But Battlefield Trust did save the V Corps works opposite of where Chris is walking here.

Col Shortell was my great uncle (several greats)

I just went to the battlefield this weekend and it was really good. I couldn't believe the hills that they have. I also was listening to your book on this battle. I hope you will have a tour of this.

Yes. I like the general overview of the battle. I love the audiobooks and I listen to it as I'm walking around

This is a great walk. Maybe 4 miles. Very well marked all the way out to the river!

So yer kinfolk was from Canada,eh. My ex wife was born in Frederickton. She said winters there were bone chilling cold because of the humidity.At age six they moved to Toronto, still cold but a little drier. You from Canada?

Glad Hanover county did not allow General Crushed Stone to destroy the battle field as so many big corporation do .The other side of Verdon rd on New Market Mill Road have many Confederate earth works.

The signs really trash Ledlie. He was a mess at Petersburg too.

Are there any plans to develop the early fighting of the 5th Corps after they crossed the river at Jericho Mills?

At the present, no. The purchase agreement gives the farmer rights to farm the land for a while. Richmond National Military park does ranger-led tours there once or twice a year, though; check their website periodically for announcements.
