NORRA 1000 CONQUERED IN A REMASTERED MEYERS MANX! HOLY SH*T

Where do we start with this one…. MEYERS MANX invited a bunch of good dudes to attempt the NORRA 1000 this year with pretty much an entire crew of first timers! Michael Squire and I piloted the remastered Meyers Manx that was as basic and simple as it gets. We did have a little extra pep in her step though with a 1904cc motor that made it a hoot and more comfortable to rip with some added torque! For us it wasn’t a really a race, yet a goal to finish while soaking it all in at the spots the Slow Baja class has to offer while finding some of our own. The scenery, terrain, temperatures, weather and so much more changed daily as we piloted from Ensanada to Cabo San Lucas on 5 different consecutive stages day after day. Yeah we had some minor issues but we didn’t let that stop us and the 3 OG air cooled Meyers Manx made it across the finish line! These Volkswagen inspired cars that Bruce Meyers built in 1964 are vehicles that have so much character and capability all while providing nothing but smiles for miles 59 years later and counting! Since then the godfather Bruce has passed 🙏🏻 and the new owners have perfected the Oldschool ways of doing it, to now having more options and accommodations than ever before without changing the classic roots of the company. From hardcore racers to people that just want to cruise and soak it all in the Norra series has something for everyone! It was an experience of a lifetime and now I’m hooked! Thank you MEYERS MANX for this opportunity and I’m looking forward to the next adventure in Beautiful Baja! 🤙🏼

Thank you Blake and Michael! I am sure you had a great time, but we appreciate your video of the experience. We drove two Baja Bugs and a VW Thing down to Cabo and back during the Baja 2000 race. It was quite an adventure including broke valve adjuster, clogged air filters, broken exhaust system, an alternator fire, and a roll-over. But we just kept patching things and going. Nice to see Mission San Borja, we got the tour there also. San Ignacio with the lagoon and town square and mission are great. We liked Mulegé so much we camped along the river there going south and north. The dune buggy is uniquely capable due to its light weight and the trailing arm suspension. Good fun.
