So ole girl was just there to hate. Everything that came out of her mouth, even her body language was negative. She pretended that it was a language barrier while speaking perfect English, 🤨but we all know what it was. You don’t have to speak the language to recognize art. The second she mentioned Camila, I knew everything I needed to know about her. Like I said, she was just there to hate. They should’ve did the video without her because she literally pulled all of the positive energy out of the room.

This is not a story driven video, it's mostly artistic and choreography driven. There's symbolism in it as well, most obvious is the mirror scene--Normani is a gemini! She has many different versions of herself, hence so many various scenes (my interpretation). The music took me a few listens to get it, because it's very different from the sampled song I'm familiar with (One in a Million by Aaliyah). But it's such a dope track and I loved this reaction!

Not to mention the choreography, costumes, and sets were on point 😍😘❤!

It was so awkward to watch the reaction in the girl in this video try to hide her jealousy of Normani. She won't give her credit for anything, constantly hollering about "its the production" as if these amazing dance technics that her mere mortal eyes get to gaze upon are just run of the mill. Constantly, talking about she doesn't understand the concept of the video - like she is some sort of video analysis. The over gushes on Cardi B to try to show the world she has some sort of pulse. This is exactly why dark skinned girls have a hard time in music, because when they are beautiful and talented they are hated on by girls who don't think they deserve attention over them. Someone tell this girl, that allowing Normani to be the beautiful talent she is, doesn't stop her from being amazing too, if she can get her attitude together

I think this is a generational and cultural thing. Normani is all about the 90s-early 2000s. This video is all about the 90s-early 2000s. Choreography heavy. Heavy on visuals. Video doesn’t have to tell a story or follow the song lyrics Aaliyah, missy Elliott… The song is just about telling a dude to bring his A game… Plenty of people have said the video is better than the song. Even Normani said it doesn’t go as hard as she originally wanted. But. It’s still a good song. Enjoyable. It it comes on the radio or on the playlist, I’m not skipping it. No need to think too much about it though.

The beat itself is and ode to One In A Million by Aaliyah. The main outfit is a nod to Missy, the choreo has sprinkles of Ciara, Usher, Aaliyah, etc. Thats why yall are only appreciating it on this one note. This song is an ode to the 90s/early 2000s.
