Normal days and being very normal on our narrowboat
Moving on, physically and emotionally, from The Great Fall into the canal last episode we attempt to have a few days without incident. Featuring: our first winding hole, a floating fridge, nearly decapitating out chimney and lots of other minor chaos. It's not all nature and countryside, this week we're taking in the sights and shopping trolleys of Rugby. Hope you enjoy the vlog!

May I make a suggestion. This on the basis that it is most probable that you WILL be Taking a look again!! My suggestion is to look at a divers shop like Chambers. There are some waterproof camera housings. Some quite cheap. You won't need an expensive one as you aren't going down 30m. But these dive shops have cheaper offerings than a full on camera housing. Worth a look anyway. Perhaps also consider a sort of safety line for the camera like the astronauts use. You could take a look again but your camera would be belayed to the roof handrail etc. These are simple and cheap expedients and shouldn't interfere with your excellent vlogs. Just test all belay points so that if you take a look again your expensive equipment just hangs down the side of the boat above the waterline. Providing you get into the habit of belaying your equipment that will save any future financial and emotional distress You going in doesn't matter but it does all your camera gear etc😊 You can have a shower; change of clothes and a cry. Your poor old camera gear can't!!! Also for your next Tom Fords get one of those granny spectacle chains. So that if they come off they should still be round your neck! Or better still there are those retaining straps that sports people use especially skiers and sea boaters. I would also suggest that you secure the windlass with a holdall strap and put across your body. Easy the thread it through and then just unclip when going to use. I think half the problem especially with you is that you have so much going on that you perhaps don't fully concentrate on your stability. The measures I have suggested may mitigate what I feel will be inevitable again That camera gear is expensive and I doubt it is insured or even insurable the way you use it.
Shame about the glasses, camera and lens , but what does that matter when you have Andrew who fixes and rescues everything, lambs frolick on the banks of the canal and a fridge giving it large, floats down the middle of your canal and you have the knowledge that the somewhere, there is a fish rocking Tom Ford glasses up and down the canal. Moments to savour no doubt 😊
The fish net for fishing, oh it makes me laugh so much! the glass inert, and the fish active… hilarious! Thank you for being you, it’s fantastic!

Another triumph - can't wait for the soundtrack album! - personal highlights of this episode. "The glasses are inert but the fish are active" plus the classic "This is like B&M but like more intense...if that's possible" -- surely what James Bradfield and the Manics were thinking of when writing Design for Life -- epic -- keep up the good work!

Throughout all the mayhem, Andrew's steadfast ability to remain calm keeps thing moving along nicely. Good job Andrew. Its a pity about the camera and your glasses. But life is full of changes and acceptance is a coping mechanism. Great vlog Kris. Cheers

glad the water didn’t make you ill! sorry about your glasses and RIP camera and lens. maybe this is the universe telling you to get an XT5! 😂 happy cruising and thanks for the vlog.
I’m loving your vlogs! Love your humor😂. So glad Andrew didn’t edit out your “fishing” scene, brilliant! I also think the shot of gin may have helped with the canal germs 🦠. Y’all keep up the great vlogs❤️❤️
The Dunelm segment is not sponsored, but god I WISH

Another grear vlog - enjoy your filming and take on narrowbaot life. İ know you are in deep mourning for the loss of those Tom Fords but in this vlog you looked stunning.. Maybe canal life just agrees with you.
I'm so amused to find your videos! I've been watching narrowboat videos for about a year or two, but I used to be in the same livejournal community as you back in the 2010s. Loving this adventure for you, very jealous.

Yet another fabulous vlog!!! Keep them coming. Would love to see what you’ve done to the inside of your boat and what food you cook etc, how you spend your time on the boat, especially in this hot weather. When people have asked me before… is it cold on a boat on winter?….. I always reply, it’s not the winters you have to worry about, it’s the summer 🥵 Too hot xxx
Hi Guys, love your videos especially the 'soporific segment' & fyi, you have a landing net used to bring a hooked fish in.

Another lovely film, very relaxing apart from the onscreen tension of wet tech! Seriously though how does the insurance industry treat canal dwellers? I trust they still provide cover but is it at a ridiculous premium due to the dangers you so beautifully demonstrated?
I can't believe Andrew didn't jump in to find your glasses - the water isn't that deep and he could have felt around with his feet.😂😂😂

Based on the number of rusty nails we pulled out with the magnet, I wouldn’t recommend getting feet anywhere near the bottom of a canal! But also it was too deep, I couldn’t stand up when I went in 😅

Sorry you lost the camera, lens, glasses and eventually your iPhone. But I'm glad you're doing ok and didn't get seriously hurt in the fall or get worse off after. Life lesson I suppose. As usual, am utterly bewitched by the way you tell a tale. Even if its as simple as going to a Tesco.
