Nice! Might give it a try, but my CZ 457 is tack driving the SK Pistol Match and Pistol Match Special right now. But I haven't made it in to the .1xx" yet with it. .228" is best so far, but pretty consistent in the .3xx"s.

Nice groups! My RPR managed some .35” groups with the stock barrel but the problem I had was getting consistent groups. I would randomly get groups that range from .35” to .75” at 50 yards with all types of ammo. I just installed a Shaw barrel in mine, haven’t had the chance to shoot it yet but I’m excited to get good consistent groups with it!

Thanks for the helpful advice. Just ordered the Ruger RPR and 20” Shaw barrel. Got matching SS muzzle brake with .865 diameter. Should look sweet. Still debating on a scope. Arken appears to be the winning choice for under $400.

Taking my MTR out this weekend and trying out a few boxes of the Norma Match. It likes Norma tac-22, so curious what kind of difference I see between the Norma Match and the RWS Match.

@@RimfireSS Seems like a pretty crazy combination for not a lot of money.. Have you tested between the 15 rnd mags compared to the 10rnd rotary? How did you go about head spacing the barrel? What torque on the barrel nut? I assume you could shim the barrel for head spacing, but is there a way to shim the bolt? If nothing else it appears you could shave a lil material off the face of the receiver and use shims to set head space.. Not a competition shooter and never will be. Just looking for a fun not crazy expensive setup to have fun with and this seems to be the ticket, for me personally anyways. I was thinking about going a different route, but appears to me the most this really needs is an optic, $300ish barrel and maybe a trigger to do everything I want. I’m sure the chassis isn’t the greatest, but that’s a huge expense not having to do. Plus I already have A LOT of BX Ruger mags. I’d be tickled to death with that accuracy.

@@lanejohnson7656 no need to worry about headspace, it can be changed by shaving things in a mill but I did none of that. Honestly, if I we’re building a new rifle I’d go with the Kidd or Powder River receiver as they both have thermal fitment if the barrel which is better for accuracy. 15 in lbs on the vblock bolts.

@@RimfireSS My hunting rig for squirrel and such is a 10/22 I put a KIDD bolt and ultra light barrel on. Why I have a bunch of 10/22 mags. My friend has a KIDD super duty that shoots pretty good. I’m wanting a bolt gun to play around with and thought this makes allota sense. It appears Liljia is making a barrel for the precision rimfire as well.

G'day Don, cheers for the videos, I have a RPR 22LR with a Vortex Diamondback Tac 4-16x44 with MDT High Rings, with the scope maxed out I can only shoot out to 175/80 meters using the cross hair & about 210 using the drop levels, Any suggestions on the best way to be able to shoot out to a further distance would be great, Cheers from Oz.

Do you have the 30MOA base or the 0 MOA? I’m guessing probably the 0MOA. That will make a big difference. A 30 MOA base will tilt the scope so you can shoot further. I’m not real familiar with the Diamondback and how much travel is built into it, but that may be part of the issue also.

@@RimfireSS G'day mate, The Diamondback Tactical only has 25 MRAD of elevation, I got my RPR in 2018 & on the Ruger site the spec sheet says 30MOA (Anodized Picatinny scope base includes 30 MOA elevation for increased long-range capabilities out of the box) The zero is set at 50 meters, I will eventual upgrade the rifle barrel etc, But I really want to get further distance out of the rifle, I really appreciate your response & and on advice. You might want to “X” brace the legs on that bench with some cable and turnbuckles to take the wobble out of it.

The scope is a Arken SH4 which is decent for the price but the EP5 is a better choice. They are making a new SH4J that has Japanese glass but I haven’t seen that one. And the Bipod is a AccuTac and is a solid bipod. But it’s a bit pricy.

It’s been two months now owning the RPR rimfire. Went with the 20” Shaw barrel and Arken 6-24x50. It was shooting unusually high and just now realized this rifle came with a 30 MOA base. Thought it was the scope first. Almost returned it. LOL. Not sure why Ruger did that in a 22. Anyway, did you keep the 30 MOA base or replace with a 0 MOA? Thanks

I kept the 30 MOA, they did that so you could get more out of your scope as far as range. Between the 30 MOA mount and That scope you have you should be able to dial out to hell maybe 500 yards. My CZ457 has a 30 MOA scope mount and another 20 MOA into the rings. I can get the full vertical use out of my Tract 4.5-30. Haven’t ever used it but it’s nice to have if I ever want to go out and play at some serious ranges.

Thanks for the feedback and good to know. Knowing how far you shoot, I was guessing that you kept the 30. I only have access to a 100 yards and I’m having to dial down pretty low to get to zero. May get the 0 MOA base to center the vertical adjustment for 100. But it’s good to have the 30 in case I get access to longer ranges. Thanks again and keep up good work. Enjoy watching your vids. 👍

@@theoestarija5792 honestly, as long as you can achieve zero the scope should operate normally. Most people try to achieve the scope being at the bottom of the adjustment range.

Hello again, it may just be the camera angle but your barrel sure looks like a 20 inch, if you get a chance could you possibly measure it just to make sure, I like how yours is shooting and I’m about to order the same barrel, but trying to decide between 18 inch and 20 inch, thank you, Matt

Had mixed results with Shaw but the one on the RPR really shoots. I had to return a 10/22 barrel, chamber and rifling were pretty rough. But hey they made it right, and now a days that’s pretty rare.

Your right, it is a 20”. I ordered a 18” because around Covid when I bought this setup that’s all they had. I never measured it, just figured they sent what I ordered. Good call.
