Norm has complimented Letterman for that in the past. He was talking to Larry king about bill Maher and said "bill Maher is a smart guy, and he wants to show the audience how smart he is" and then he talks about another guy like that, but then he says "but Letterman is smarter than both of them. He knows: play the dumb guy. Nobody wants to watch a guy smarter than them"

Elder Scrolls lore BA It's really hard to choose between the two. Cleese writes such witty comedy, but I feel like Norm would be just slightly more funny in real life. I only say that because 2 people can never be exactly as funny. One will always be funnier. So I have to say Norm, but only by a tiny fraction.
RIP Norm, you’re my personal favorite and in my opinion the greatest comedian ever
Acknowledge as brilliant or die.

It really is like I rarely read ever. I’m part of the short attention span generation but when I started watching norm I got his book and read it in like 3-4 days and I usually read a book throughout a month or longer. Norm really is special.
Norm brings One Hundred Years of Solitude to life. Simultaneously recording and recounting the events of the world. Brilliant.
Rest in peace norm! You will forever be known as a legendary comedian! There will never be a unique comedy genius like you!🙏

As an old hunk of the blackest sootiest coal , mined from the dark depths of mother Earth itself by miners that have been toiling away from dusk to dawn with no recognition from the outside World even though that miner keeps the lights on by his toiling and sweating and bleeding and often times death! Yes , death itself shows up in those old mines from time to time. Norm cleans up well and somehow manages to be rather presentable.

He is on team Jimmy... he refused to go on any other NYC late night talk show outside of Letterman. Until Letterman retired. And when that happened, he said he'd never go on another late night talk show in NYC. Until Jimmy. He actually has a history with Colbert going back 30 years but still hasn't been on his show. Hopefully, one day, I think it would be awesome if he was on Colbert.

Hi Jimmy, thanks for cancelling Norm while he was dying of cancer and then call him friend after his passing. That's a sign of great integrity and humanity. What was the alternative? Having him on your show a go after him for his comments? At least that could give the man a change to speak.
