Also great video some amazing finds on here well done to all involved
Fascinating! More on the old railways please :)
Fascinating stuff! My late paternal grandfather was a railwayman all his life and I am told he commenced his career at Hindelveston on the M& G N as a 'Lamper'. That is, he was part of a gang who were responsible for maintaining the oil lamps in the semaphore signals. In later years he moved to Leicestershire and finished his career as a Signalman at Syston East Junction box near Leicester.
I've biked along this route many times and the history always fascinates me. Particularly the two large A-frame bridges over the Wensum and especially the recently restored platform at Hellesdon. Great documentary!
Most enjoyable , hopefully you will keep this series going Thank You.
Absolutely superb video, thanks for posting it.
This video helped massively with my Uni project, thank you.
Fabulous :) Thank you so much
Great and Thank you
Very interesting stuff👍
I use to cycle that route from Hellesdon all the way through to Norwich. A great route when I was 16, now moons ago.
To be fair, a journey from Liverpool street to Cromer or Hunstanton must have been a trippy journey for the city peeps.
Drayton resident here - this would have been my local railway line 😠
Great stuff Chris, I used to work in Hellesdon in the seventies, and lived at Drayton [Old Lodge] at the time. I'd no idea that there'd ever been a station at either of those places. Such a shame they got rid of all those lines, might help ease traffic congestion if they were still running.

Interesting. Would the enthusiasts want to build a heritage railway along the line?
Does anyone know if there is still access to the workers entrance…thanks in advance
