As a Swede, I'm truly very proud of Noomi Rapace (even though she really has got an uncommon rare sort of first name, rare second name too as a matter of fact), and I was so glad & nicely pleased to see the Yellow-&-Blue Swedish flag in the studio there too; so let's hear it for a real great Swedish Actress - Noomi Rapace!!! GREAT GIRL with a multitude of talents! - Tobbe in Sweden -

Noomi is a great actor, she gave life to Lisbeth and as I read the remainder of the books, I can see her (Noomi) and all the rest of the characters, as I read along. I can't wait for the American version; Of course, Hollywood will make a train wreck out of it, as they try to "sell" the actors as opposed to the story itself. I love the Swedish version, and it will always be, for me, the book(s), come to life...oh yes, Noomi, if you ever get divorced, can you give me a ring?

WOW! i agree with the previous comments, she is so different in real life. total opposite of Lisbeth. That really does make her a great actress i guess.

All three movies are great. You have to *want* to watch them though. If you recommend them to someone, they kind of shy away b/c of the pics and the subs. They became immediate classics and in my top all time great movies. I have never read the books, but I will.... one day.

@shaneonya - Hi there ShaneOnya, & THANK's for providing a truly enviously accurate & deeply insightful info about Noomi's & her (ex?) Husband Ola's names; honestly speaking, I did not know anything about this interesting background, but if I would suggest a (possible) explaination why they wanned to chose such an uncommon name as "predator" (Rapace), it might as well be that Norell & Noren are quite phonetically similar & Rapace is definitely quite more striking! Are you by any chance a Swede?

@travz21 I read she's being seriously considered by Ridley Scott for the new Alien prequel movie. Sigourney Weaver was about 30 when she did the first one.

@gold192 - Thank you Gold; you're truly very right about that, very accurate, & when you think about it; I would say that the name Rapace is indeed not at all a particuarly common Swedish second name, only God knows from where her Husband comes from! By the way, I actually read today that Noomi has been asked to participate & act in an American planned motion picture called 'Witch Hunters', based on the classical saga "Hansel and Gretel" - Noomi will be joined by the wellknown Jeremy Renner!

@Colspex Yeah, I agree. I think it is soooo stupid when movies are dubbed. It really detracts from the film's quality. I would much rather have things subtitled and, as a person who enjoys foreign films, I'm glad I live in a country that tends to subtitle rather than dub.

@daysleeper236 The big difference with Sweden and for example Italy, Germany and France is that Sweden only have subtitles - we never dub our TV-shows. I mean, the US popular culture had an enormous impact on Sweden since the early 60's and for example, during the 80's, we used to watch cartoons and really hearing the words and the slang etc. We also start reading english in school from the age of 10 and sometimes even earlier. I cannot even imagine how it would be to have things dubbed...

Wow, 5'6 is short in Sweden? Thats the height I am now and I feel so tall. I was wondering why she was always described as 'so tiny' in the movies. She is so pretty and her accent is lovely. She does a amazingggg job in the movie as lisbeth. :D

i kinda agree with geoff lloyd. No way she's 5'2, which is the despcription in the book. She looked to be more like 5'6 or 5'7. She might be short for sweden, but Salander was described as almost anorexic looking too.......but she did a great job in the movie so i wasn't totallly disappointed.

The constant smoking by Noomi's Lisbeth character was so annoying. Apart from that, I have to say that "Girl with The Dragon Tattoo" was a brilliant film, bordering on genius! I wish they wouldn't remake this one. It's such an ensemble work that the casting for a remake is bound to fall short.
