If you are a non-cse student and want to move to cse for higher studies and build your career in cse, what are the major difficulties you might face and how to overcome them?

Very few colleges allow students who don't have a bachelors in cse. Please make a video on the list of colleges that do allow them.

An engineer can easily move to CS but a Computer scientist cannot do engineering as easily due to requirement of physics, chemistry and high level math such as Transform theory, calculus 3, complex variables, etc. But discrete math is super easy. Core branches are very difficult. That is why students are unemployed, all they do is learn DSA, cs fundamentals and end up in IT. System courses in CS like CO, CN are the easiest "electives" in EC. Signal systems is full of laplace and fourier transform, electromagnetics is full of vector calculus. Power system is very abstract in electrical. Similarly, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, vibrations are very physics, mechanics and chemistry intensive. For civil, Fluid mechanics, strength of material, hydrualics are considered toughest. CS is not considered an engineering course in USA. It happens in india where CS is taught in Engineering institutes. Thank you for the informative video. 👍

But there's a catch. CS is highly and highly logic oriented. That is why it's one of the best and sought after course in MIT.

Yes, you will have to do TA/TAship for getting the stiphen during mtech. That's mandatory for all.

Yes they can, all depends on your interest in CSE subjects. If you like it, you definitely can.

I am not sure whether drdo recruitment is done based on gate score or they have their own exam. If it is through gate score and then if you have good gate marks, you cab definitely get into it.

If you crack Gate in CSE all IIT/NIT will allow you.

Not sure, but if you crack Gate CSE, they should allow. Nhi allow karneka koi reason nhi hai.

No not much. In iits/iisc if you are skilled, you will get placed.

For some iits interview and a mini written is mandatory now a days, whatever rank you score. Only thing is the better the rank, the more the chance as 70-75% weightage given to gate rank or score

Same. IISc has started written and coding test recently for CSE Mtech admission. You need to go though that.

@@kishalaydas You're right, sir. I just checked the official IISc website and selection process is based on 70% of gate score and 30% of the written test score for the M. Tech. admission. Just one last question if you could answer, that is, what kind of questions will likely be asked in the written tests? Thank you.

Yes provided you crack gate in cse. Few even allowed gate in other domain for cse admission

No they won't. If your cv and academic grades are good .u will get chance to appear for interview.
Dada, can someone who's doing a cse specialisation degree get into IITs after clearing gate CS for Mtech CSE ? Will all Colleges allow cse specialisation undergrad ? Will they be treated as btech cse students? Or there are some colleges which won't allow?

Specialization is allowed only in Mtech. There is no specialisation in undergrad

Yes you can If you understand the undergraduate subjects of CSE. Those are the core of CSE. And coding you need to learn. I have seen people from Civil, Aerospace did Mtech from CSE. Its very much doable

@@gaurav__5653 I have no idea. If you are interested in CSE, i recommend do mtech in CSE (thats allowed with Gate CSE score) and work for core CSE companies. In PSUs for CSE there are limited scope
