I've been riding for near 40 yrs now and seen all the rule changes. Started with no stop. I think this is the stupidest move FIM has ever made.

Why are we doing this. Trials has progressed to the point that it is now because of innovation machinery and human nature. We are in danger of over complicating the sport as in that case of formula 1. Having competed in trials for 35 years, and observed many meetings. I feel that one of the greatest losses to the sport will be the stress placed on observers due to this very hard to implement rule. I can see a lot of long time observers pulling out of the sport due to the conflict this will bring. It is just about impossible to fairly judge what constitutes A STOP consistently between observers if they are rotated on a section.

Far too subjective. Even in this video, the difference between the accepted 'ticks' and the incorrect 'crosses' are subjective. The rider still stops in most of the 'accepted' clips, albeit for a shorter duration. At what point does the very brief stop become a failure?!? Impossible to observe without being subjective. Also much less exciting to watch the experts complete a less spectacular section, and potentially more dangerous for the novice or clubman wanting to pause for a moment rather than plough on and get hurt.

Great rule. Back to the way when trials started. Stop=5, simples, and anyone who thinks its complicated is a moron. Personally i think the stop dab was the best solution, but anything that brings the level of trials and sections down is a good thing. All stop rules brings to trials is stop watches, world championships with 10 riders in them and local trials with 3 expert riders. Non stop means simpler sections (not necessarily easier), which means more riders can compete, which means the sport grows.

Its really simple. If you don't like something, don't participate.

Disappointing. Makes as much sense as non-stop golf.

It was a time in Moto-Trial when stopping or moving backwards was not allowed... I like that kind of rule, more interesting, less "street bicycle style".
