In assoluto la migliore versione che ho ascoltato fino ad ora, sia scenicamente che vocalmente, il Maestro Gallo molto facilitato dalla sua voce da "Basso - bariton" sentito anche in Don Pasquale come dottor Malatesta. Immenso tutti i mi acuti sono centrati e forti come partitura comanda, Bravo!

Il libretto di Le Nozze di Figaro è stato scritto dal librettista Lorenzo Da Ponte, che ha collaborato con Mozart in altre due opere, Così fan tutte e Don Giovanni (opera). Non più andrai, farfallone amoroso, notte e giorno d'intorno girando; delle belle turbando il riposo Narcisetto, Adoncino d'amor. Non più avrai questi bei pennacchini, quel cappello leggero e galante, quella chioma, quell'aria brillante, quel vermiglio donnesco color. Tra guerrieri, poffar Bacco! Gran mustacchi, stretto sacco. Schioppo in spalla, sciabla al fianco, collo dritto, muso franco, un gran casco, o un gran turbante, molto onor, poco contante! Ed invece del fandango, una marcia per il fango. In fact the lyrics writer was Lorenzo da Ponte an Italian librettist who often collaborated with Mozart who spoke a good Italian. Of course Mozart is an incredible adorable genius

Thanks to Antonio Salierie's mediocre March of welcome written for Mozart meeting the emporor, the tune Mozart immidately turned into a masterpiece. Then decided, hey, this master piece I created out of that little welcome march, I can put some words to and put into my opera!! :0) **Actaully, I know it didn't really happen that way, they just simplified this song for the move, but I am just having some fun. Yes Nick, Le Nozze di Figaro is part of a genre known as Opera Buffa, that means comic opera. They are my favorite operas, always enjoyable! Take a look at Il barbieri di Seviglia (the most fantastic opera ever in my opinion), L'elisir d'Amore, Gianni Schicchi and also Don Giovanni to mention a few. They are all very famous and all contain a comic trait, some more than others. :)

I believe this performance in Vienna from 1991 is the best performance ever. Conductor(Abbado), singers, orchestra make real Mozart sound and taste. Bryn Terfel version, which is from MET I think is not real Mozart. I would say it is an American Mozart.

beh si può dire che l'italiano fosse la lingua favorita del "bel canto" in generale, ovvero dell'opera lirica, non sono delle opere buffe (benché ovviamente vi fossero libretti anche nelle altre lingue europee). E questo si accompagna al riconoscimento della lingua italiana come lingua "musicale", quantomeno da Ariosto e Tasso, fino a Marino e poi Metastasio (giusto per fare una mega sintesi).

ti correggo... l'italiano non era la lingua del canto, ma la lingua delle cosiddette "opere buffe". Tantissime opere buffe, come questa o per esempio "Così fan tutte" sempre di Mozart sono scritte in italiano.

Luca Badin A dire il vero l'italiano era davvero considerata la lingua del "bel canto", infatti il melodramma è nato in Italia Händel era tedesco e ha vissuto in Inghilterra, ma le sue opere sono in italiano (e sono opere "storiche", quindi serie) Stessa cosa per Gluck Mozart stesso ha scritto delle opere "serie" su libretto in italiano (ad esempio "La clemenza di Tito"), anzi all'idea era quasi uno scandalo scrivere opere nella propria lingua di origine anziché in italiano Mozart è stato il primo a scrivere opere su libretto in tedesco, poi hanno iniziato anche altri con le proprie lingue natali Se l'italiano fosse solo la lingua dell'opera buffa, allora come si spiegano Verdi e Puccini??? E la lingua dell'opera seria quale sarebbe, il francese?

ti correggo... l'italiano non era la lingua del canto, ma la lingua delle cosiddette "opere buffe". Tantissime opere buffe, come questa o per esempio "Così fan tutte" sempre di Mozart sono scritte in italiano.

Luca Badin A dire il vero l'italiano era davvero considerata la lingua del "bel canto", infatti il melodramma è nato in Italia Händel era tedesco e ha vissuto in Inghilterra, ma le sue opere sono in italiano (e sono opere "storiche", quindi serie) Stessa cosa per Gluck Mozart stesso ha scritto delle opere "serie" su libretto in italiano (ad esempio "La clemenza di Tito"), anzi all'idea era quasi uno scandalo scrivere opere nella propria lingua di origine anziché in italiano Mozart è stato il primo a scrivere opere su libretto in tedesco, poi hanno iniziato anche altri con le proprie lingue natali Se l'italiano fosse solo la lingua dell'opera buffa, allora come si spiegano Verdi e Puccini??? E la lingua dell'opera seria quale sarebbe, il francese?

I'm rather new to operas, but this production seems to be almost a parody, in comparison to the few others I watched. Is this meant to be as comedic as I notice?
