    Zooming wayyyy out on crypto, the main "sexy" use case is avoiding government oversight and regulations (taxes specifically) in regards to payments. I don't see much use beyond that (even the cases Vitalik mentioned, meh). Most things don't need to be decentralized, and most tokens and platforms are precisely what you mentioned in your opening I guess that's where bitcoin maximalists make sense. Kind of makes the whole thing seem like a gigantic sham, since we all need to cash out eventually, meaning that we are expecting the government to tolerate us at the exit point, while the only use case is for spitting at them

    I think the real future of blockchain is in business to business uses sharing and collaborating on documentation. Things like global supply chains and health records are obvious applications that are beginning to adopt blockchain and have massive TAMs. The IBM website has some good info on this. The question is whether public blockchains offer an advantage to blockchain and I question whether they do. Private enterprise chains offer customer service, control of code and of course privacy, things that are lacking in public chains.
