That is SOOO sad...I wish I had not watched it....she has sung this so beautifully all her life, but her heart simply wasn't in that rendition. She was then eighty something? Montserrat was THE voice of the last century.. Her floated pianissimo notes were legendary.. God! How I loved her voice!

I love this song by this duet. Two obviously professional singers of such different ages. I have listened to it at least a dozen times. I always watch their interaction as they come onto the stage, and then their stance as the introduction builds up, and then their plunge into the song. They are two beautiful singers and two beautiful women.

Montserrat, a woman to be rememberd forever. A great soprano, and numberless her charity intitutions in favor of children, poor and destitute. Grazie Montserrat. Muchas gracias for existing.
