Your thoughts begin to mature with each phase, and once you get closer to 30, you're supposed to be a little bit more wiser than you were at 18. he's just struggling to find his own identity like a lot of young black gang members, once you turn 30, you realize that the past was just a facade, jumping around in videos with your homies, skipping school, and all that neighborhood hanging didn't really mean much..you only hung with each other because you were close together in proximity, but that doesn't mean you're close at heart. That's why people tell you to focus in school, do the right thing, and all that "lame" stuff because one day you're going to be a man, and you need the skills to market yourself to the economy so that you can earn your way through life. This brother will be fine, he's a youngin struggling to find himself..all he knows is the hood isn't his identity anymore, and the best thing he can do is just live his life and do what he has to do to pay his own way through life. Get you a skill, make some money, get a job, get a 401k, stack your money so that you can make little investments, and live your life. That's where you're gonna find meaning in life, not in some block that has a revolving cast every 10 years (after the previous ones go to jail or die, and new ones spawn up making the same mistakes, like a never-ending loop). This is why older guys tell you younger guys to stop living this foolish street life, but usually the youngins don't listen & end up at this point where they're confused and demoralized because life ain't a game anymore
