But never really got paid. The bbc saw to that, but they can pay Gary Lineker £1.5 million for 15 minute a week on idle chit chat on footie per year. The sisters are still working in offices to keep the wolf from the door, utter disgrace..

Loved this record when the chiffons first sang it in 1966 I'm not a fan of covers normally but love the nolan sisters. Great cover these gals could sing the phone book imo, RIP Bernie taken way too soon thanks for the memories girls 💔❤

I was a mere lad of 13 at the time and I loved them all, but especially Bernie cos she had that twinkle in her eye. So sad the twinkle has gone but the memories linger.

Okay, so it initially charted at the beginning of 1966 (on the same day that the electrified Lancaster-Morecambe route was closed) but sometimes a song has better chart success the second time round.
