Have been riding for about a week and a half with this helmet now. I do find that there is a fair amount of wind noise and exhaust echoes from the rear vents. Love the wide field of view. Reasonably comfortable and some nice features at the price point. Decent ventilation. Top plastic vent area feels a bit flimsy as do the vent actuators. Not sure how much I will ride in other configurations, but cool concept.

Double check your helmet insert at the front of the helmet. There are small tabs to be inserted that hold the insert up and away from the flip down visor. When I put in the bluetooth device my visor stuck too but at further examination I had not gotten all the front tabs aligned. The visor will flip back up with one touch and one hand as designed. You need to tweak a bit on the sunvisor cable system. The design is a bit off due to the sliding mechanism is only one sided and the spring/release is not strong enough to retract fully. What I did was to spray a bit of silicone spray to the cable system and at the right side visor clip. Now it works like a charm. I do not have N70-2GT but I do have N44 Evo which was upgraded to N70-2GT. Most of the parts are also common.

YES, I WAS HOPING THAT THE PEAK COULD BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE VISOR BUT IT SEEMS IT'S EITHER ONE OR THE OTHER.

Good Test, thank you, but an Shield with a Vent, wich is in the view, is a no go for me. I can´t find out if Nolan selling alternative Shields without the Vent. It interesting for Riders who use the Frontbar not so often.

Thank you for this great review. One question, up to what speed can you ride this helmet with the main/clear visor all the way up? I prefer to wear sunglasses and leave the main/clear visor all the way up and would mostly brign it down when it's getting dark (or highway riding).

I had the former N70 for 6 years and now the N70-2. I always drive with the main visor raised up to 70-100 km/h, depending on the weather conditions. Be careful though, at 100 km/h you will have a lot of drag and you will notice any gust of wind. Your neck will get a good workout. That visor becomes a sail! But in hot summer I prefer the full ventilation over the additional stress on my neck. I even remove it sometimes, if I know that I'll never lower it during a ride.

so why are helmets getting larger ?it is like a whole bed mattress on your head ! like you can not touch the top of a helmet

That helmet should include shoulder pads for support. It's massive.

The carbon composite shell used for this is quite expensive to manufacture as well as the mold for it so they only made 2 shell sizes. One shell size for S-M fit and another for L-XXXL fit. So basically he is wearing a regular sized 3XL but with thicker inner foam to make it just a large.

IMHO Nolan disappoints. Yes, this is improvement over the N40 series (some of worst designed & built). Shoei and Schuberth helmets in entire other class. The Koreans do a much better job (design, build & materials). Nolan must be run/managed by old men who are designers (not engineers) who skimp on most every important detail. Your struggle showing wiring location is perfectly illustrative. Your positive review I suspect will give way to buyers regret. My two cents.
