All Nokturnal Mortum albums are among best in black metal. Long time innovators and among best all time in consistent quality black metal albums with Bathory and Graveland.

Usually i almost always skip the album intros and get to the first track immediately, but Black Moon Overture never ceases to amaze me, feels like i'm listening to an epic Castlevania soundtrack

One of my top black metal masterpiece albums!

Amazing symphonic black/folk metal. Nice use of traditional Ukrainian instruments alongside the keyboards

Veles Scrolls is just out of this world. So damn good and timeless.

I remember hearing the title song back in 2007. My first time hearing the entire album. Fucking good stuff. You have to consider the effort this took in the 90s to record. A BLACK METAL MASTERPIECE in its own right.

Veles' Scrolls is my favorite song. Very folky and symphonic!

Still till this day the intro will always remind me of Old School Runescape

And just emagine Bathory was writing like this 13 years earlier. Not taking anything away from the Almighty NM tho. They fine tuned it though to what it is today. Glad to have almost everything they release. The folklore mixed with brutality of humanity and tribalism. Last but not least all of the different instruments combining a cobweb harmonies to epic proportions. Long live NM!!

This is a great debut with well written compositions but for me the demos are still the best and far far better than the albums in terms of songwriting and independent style! The first albums were very similar to the symphonic black wave which rose these days! The demos were unique stuff with guitar led melodies and pagan perfection. "The voice of steel" was a perfect album and the newest one is also stunning again! "Goat Horns" is still a masterpiece but it cant reach the quality from the demos and voice of steel in my opinion!

Back to 97-98 when some distro mate from Belarus (wish I'm correct ) sent me this masterpiece. Only in 2001 I succeeded to get original CD release

Absolutely flawless record

You could say whatever you want about their other albums being better (with the exception of lunar poetry that one is true) this will be the most fight in the rain intensive demon summoning symphonic boss battle music whenever the album plays, it's the most beautiful experience. The vocal are all guts and glory. Listen to this in the rain or die!

The intro could have been in Warcraft 2. I love so much this album

Probably because they had a sketchy and unfortunate nationalist period. Luckily they came back from that and redeemed themselves in recent years.
