"Old Lunar Poetry demo holds a very special place in discography of Nokturnal Mortum. On one hand the quality of the songs released on this record in 1996 gained the attention of the whole scene back then. Many fans still wonder why it is labelled only as demo, while others simply praise it as pagan black metal at its best. On other hand due to some technical aspects, mostly because of the loss of the lyrics and the absence of new keyboard arrangements, the band did not perform the fan favorites from Lunar Poetry during the last two decades.
The 25th anniversary of the demo became the most logical reason to bring the old songs back to life. To Lunar Poetry is a full-length album that contains the new versions of timeless classics from the demo that were written by the band (thus leaving in 1996 the material from other authors that was present of the demo). Beyond this, new album brings forth the renewed Return of the Vampire Lord epic initially released in 1997 on the EP of the same name and new full-force intro composition.
To Lunar Poetry marks the return of Nokturnal Mortum members from the 90’s both with fresh blood in recording line-up and the renewal of the music created in times of old with studio possibilities of today. To Lunar Poetry is a place where the past and the future of Nokturnal Mortum meet."

Yup -- exact same age and situation as me. I'm trying to like this new one but it causes me to go back to the old one. This one isn't bad but it sometimes drowns out old prominent riffs and keyboard melodies...

Привет Латвийским металлистам. 5 месяцев прожил в 2020 году в Риге и остались дико приятные воспоминания от людей, города, архитектуры и атмосферы. Все такое близкое, приятное и люди интеллигентные. Хочется ещё приехать, что постараюсь сделать сразу после войны. Понравились также Цесис, Кулдига, Талси, Сигульда. В Риге жил на Matisa Iela. Осенними ночами гулял смотрел город под свежевышедший альбом Draconian. Ночная осенняя Рига супер. Ещё раз привет!

I am 26 years old, when I was 12 you guys were one of my first black metal bands that I ever listened to, without knowing it. When I matured I found you, and since then you are my fav black metal band! I didn't expect this album but OH BOY IM EXCITED!!!!!!!! Thank you for this! Really needed!
shit, I think i fuckin' shed some tears while listening to this entire album, Lunar poetry was, and still is, one of the most important works I've listened to. I enjoyed with strength every single second of this work. Epic...

Because people into metal (like rock and pop) revere individual performances, not just compositions, and so re-recording is inevitably seen as revisionist in spirit. with that said, if you have to re-record an album or a demo, this is the way to do it: give it a new title so they're considered two different things. Not what Gorgoroth did with Under the Sign...
As a Taiwanese🇹🇼, I always stay strong with Ukraine🇺🇦💪 But, stiil I wish peace between Slavic countries can come soon🙏 It's seems very difficult though.

You can believe me or not, but nokturnal mortum was one of the first 3 black metal bands i ever listened to after hearing them on early KZread along with lucifugum and Hate Forest. No idea how those ended up being my first but then I found burzum, and weirdly I didn't even start listening to darkthrone until years later. But hearing this just gives me so much nostalgia.
I have never listened to these guys before but they give me a lot of Dimmu vibes but the perfect blend of folksiness in there. Awesome album. Slava Ukraina!
