I'm 68, retired, and the Simplex is my first detector. Just finished my first year in the hobby and couldn't be more pleased. Still learning and having a blast. Happened to reach out to Jason, Quarter Hoarder, last November after catching a couple of his videos, and he recommended the Simplex as the best starter machine for my budget and for the bucks. Everything you listed is a plus: price point, rechargeable, upgradeable software, waterproof, wireless headphones synch with PulseDive pinpointer which mutes the Simplex. I also added the SP24 coil and carbon fiber lower shaft, and happened to "win" a second Simplex as the major item in a $299 holiday Mystery Box, that ended up having the bundle with headphones and pinpointer, along with a digger and other gear. So, I have 2, one with the SP24, one with the stock SP28, always ready for any situation, whether tight, trashy area, or open field. I spend most time in Park 2, one bar down sensitivity, and have been pretty successful on my own, that I don't know any better. I enjoy watching you use the Simplex, and can guess what you're going to dig sometimes by the number. Who's driving this '68 Zincoln? lol I've been spending the last few weeks hitting the tot lots in the parks in the metro area. Halloween afternoon I dug 245 coins in 2 playgrounds and only totaled $10.02. 157 were pennies. A side note: I started the keto diet at the same time I took up the hobby, and have dropped 95 pounds to date. Pays to exercise. No, literally, every coin pays me to bend down and dig it up. Anyway, I'll stop rambling, and wrap up here by saying I'm going out swinging my Simplex in the morning. Stay safe and keep on digging.

My first too. 51
I have one, I use it and I love it. I also have the Vanquish which I love also. I have a hard time saying which one is my favorite. The Simplex is great in trashy areas with the SP24 coil. It is great in coins and chains. I have found more silver and gold chains with the Simplex than I have with the Vanquish. I am very limited on where I can detect so Iam hitting the same places over and over again. I have found that when the Simplex locks in, it is always correct. The secret of the Simplex is that you have to use it and learn the tones. The VDI's can be misleading, but the tones are always correct.
If I didnt have a youtube metal detect channel and an addiction/obsession to own 5 different machines, for $249- The Simplex is The only detector I would need for straight up PARK DETECTING. Nokta Makro did their homework and created a fine quality machine.. I justify pissing money on detectors .. I dont need 3-4 or 5 . All BS aside there is not much the Simplex will miss that a Equinox/Vanquish will find at a park.. - True talk
just got my simplex and cant wait to try it out! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Next time you go to the beach. Manualy ground balance it to 0.00 sensitivity down one notch. Use all metal mode. problem solved. search south coast detecting. (uk)

thanks for the tips james I am always open to learning! I'll give all metal mode a go next time im out with the simplex 👍
Thanks Austin - you tell it well! OK, where do I begin? Yep, the price point - it allowed me to get my first machine! I won't ever have the funds for a machine in the 1K zone - so, thanks NM, you put good, functional detectors in the hands of many who don't have the means for expensive models! I live in Ireland - waterproof is a MUST - it rains here!! Just recently another plus became evident - my Simplex packed up (plus minus 1000 hours of use) - however, they honoured their 2 year warrantee - I now have a brand new machine!! OH - I only own one machine - and it paid for itself in a year - that's in money terms (euro), not even taking into consideration the rings and other bits of silver jewelry... happiness is!!👍😁

A very good breakdown vossie!! You know if you ever felt like it you could do a simplex for beginners video, think it would help a lot of people out there. You have used your simplex for a while and have a good feel for it and the positives / negatives it has. I always like hearing others opinions, simplex is just awesome!
Great video. I ordered mine on Monday it arrived today. Your videos have helped me decide.
Excellent tutorial. I have 3 machines and my go to is the simplex. I have both the stock coil and the sp24. I use them interchangeable, depending on site. I'm so satisfied with it that I probably won't get The Legend. Like you, highly recommend for any level. Thanks for posting.
I was at a spot today that had alot of trash and my simplex was hitting everything. Im gonna swap out and use the sp24 next time and see how that does. I still found stuff just had to dig alot of old pull tabs. This is my second week with the simplex and im still learning about it but so far im happy. I found alot of stuff in my front yard that i thought i had picked over it pretty good. So this machine found several coins amd an old pocket knife that my last detector missed. Great video and im looking forward to trying out my othet coil.
I bought one as a backpack machine, along with the vanquish. I think you did a great job at hitting all the high points. It will find targets and does a really good job at getting in between those pesky junk targets (iron). It does not, in my opinion excel at target ID very well when it comes to the numbers. That being said, it lets you know a target is there and doesn't miss much. I feel that is more important than knowing exactly what is there. The lower shaft is a bit floppy but you get used to it. All in all I would buy it again and I am going to try a elliptical coil on it. I am a big fan of that style of coil anyway. I enjoyed listening to your perspective as you are a relatively new person to the hobby. Sometimes the more veteran detectorist downplay these less expensive machines. Bottom line is this is a solid machine that I don't mind packing into those far away cellar holes and am confident in knowing that if I come home empty handed then there probably was nothing there to find.
Well I am 61 and I just bought one today. Thanks for the review.
Great Video This Will Be My First Metal Detector Thanks For All Your Cool Information
Nice video I Recently got this detector and I am just blown away! Pairing this with the Wireless headphones & the Pulse Dive pen pointer they all work together it's amazing Literally push the pen pointer one time You can switch between it and the simplex via Bluetooth It's so compact goes into the backpack easy to Carrie just more convenient than any of the other ones I've used It's a Coin Monster After a few good permissions In vintage soil I have more bucket list vintage rare coins and some of my buddies who has been doing it for years
I have used it so much over this year not even at year yet and love it really for its tones and light weight materials and the fact its performed so well for me originally was gonna go for a vanquish but the simplex had served me well no hammered silver but a few nice turner's and a fair starting amount of silver and yesterday knocked it out the park with a clean george 3rd penny very nice condition but yeah love the simplex
For the price point and performance this is a beast of a detector.. Put the time in and within a month it will pay for itself.. 12khz is what it runs on.. I never used the sp24 but Seen a lot of videos and people say that this coil brings new life to the detector.. Awesome Review ...
Love my simplex... im very green still, but when i first used this machine it seemed really chattery..... but, over time and with the addition of the sp24 coil i have come to understand the simplex's chatter as a damn good thing, rather than an annoyance. The wireless headphones were also a HUGE upgrade and help in better understanding the nuance and subtlety of this machine!!!!! It's bad ass!!!!
I got my Simplex about 6 mounths ago and just love it. It has things it does really well and some not so good.
This machine makes me want the Legend. This would have been a great first machine if I didn't get the Vanquish 540.
The simplex is awesome ,it is my third machine and I love it .Now I want that coil too.thanks for all your great videos especially the ones that you are swinging the Simplex

Thanks Chris, will always have the Simplex by my side even if other detectors come about it's just too good for the price to ever get rid of! I really love the little coil and everyone I hear use it likes to too. The stock one works awesome though it just depends where you are hunting, keep on swinging man! 👍
Yes did own one with three coils, it bust the beach apart ripped up some very deep finds on the sand, but unfortunately sold it a couple of weeks back full stack 3 coils and detector and pulse dive for 200 UK pounds.
The Simplex+ is a great machine, A. I don't own one, but have recommended it to others in the recent past. I have heard on other videos that it compares favorably to other higher end machines; And, its easy to operate without a lot of button pushing. Keep Digging, A.
We primarily hunt gold nuggets with machines primarily geared towards prospecting on our utube channel but we own a simplex and used it around a couple old mine sights and old parks in the Midwest and absolutely love it! Great points you made for it and good luck out there.. subbed👍

I’ve got a trip planned to the Midwest and wanna do some gold prospecting but I keep hearing the Simplex+ isn’t good for gold but I’ve heard a few say it does so to finally come across someone that does that and would know is great. So would it be a waste of my time looking for gold with my Simplex+ I’ve been excited about taking it for a long time so I was bummed out to hear others say it’s not made for gold so anything you could tell me would really be appreciated God Bless All

I was debating if I should get the small coil or not, but like you said I have sever parks in my neighborhood , and its full of trash. I find coins but in some places it next to impossible to detect with the big coil. Great Video, thanks Man!
I have one mine came with both coils & headphones. Im learning still haven't mastered it yet lol but for the price your right you can't go wrong. I like it way better than my white spectrum xlt I never did figure that machine out lol
Bought a new simplex whp package 2 weeks ago. The first machine didn't power on at all(yes i charged it) so i had to send that one back and just received the replacement. Its my 10th detector and this one will certainly take some getting used to. Love all the added features you get for the money, but am not a big fan of the control button arrangement, its a bit overly complicated than it should be compared to the other machines i own but eventually i will get the hang of it. Looking forward to putting the simplex through it paces and think i will like it. Hope the first non working simplex was just a fluke and this one will be trouble free for a couple of years at least. Time will tell how this detector works out in the long run for me, but, i look forward to using it. Who knows, this 10th detector may be my favorite one out of them all. Whites used to be hard to beat, but the nokta company fills a nice void since whites and tesoro closed their doors for good. So far so good, as they say
I have four detectors and I use the Simplex more than my Garrett or White's. I have been really impressed with the Simplex. I have a 100 acre permission and have used all of my machines there. My best finds have come from the ground using the Simplex. Great video Austin. Happy hunting and be well

For the price and the features it offers, I think Nokta hit it out of the park. I would love a concentric coil for it, and if I'm being a picky, a ground grab/reset button on the front panel would be nice, i.e. not requiring to go to settings to re-balance, but it's no biggie.
I traded an Equinox 800 for a Simplex. I'm happy with my decision. I got the 2 coils and headphones for $375 shipped on Amazon prime. Nice video 😊

I enjoy my Simplex+.. I did my research & knew this was the Best Starter for the money. I have both coils..always use my smaller. I do wish Nokta would do something a bit different with the tones. Other than that go out for my exercise as often as possible. I love the workout I get outside detecting. Any day detecting to me is fabulous. HH Everyone! Thanks for the videos.

I used a Whites Silver Eagle since approx.1990 and decided to buy a Simplex because of the price and reviews.I used it all summer and am amazed at the quality and features. I wish the tones were more ear friendly but with headphones it's fine. I hunt jewelry and don't need a lot of depth. I do dig a LOT of foil I never heard with the Whites but I also found 7 pieces of gold jewelry this summer. It's a great detector! SP 24 coil is best.

I have been using a Simplex since this past Spring and Love it ! Went over spots I hit with My Whites M6 and found alot of stuff I had Missed. I think what you get for the money cant be beat and its a fun detector to swing it feels a little noodly at first but you get used to it. Wish Nokta would keep offering updates even if you had to pay something for them but i guess that would stop people from buying new machines....

That's awesome to hear! I agree 100% with that, pretty sure for what it offers as a complete machine it cannot be beat for that price 🙏
I have both the simplex and a Vanquish 540 and I go back and forth between the two as to which one I like better. Strangely though, after using my Simplex for about a year now I've come to realize that I like the tones on the Simplex better than my Vanquish which seems to be opposite of some people. The tone on the simplex is a much cleaner sharper tone to begin with then the Vanquish and when you're not on a clean Target it lets you know that by degrading the tone , and you can tell much more easily what's down there then on the Vanquish, which basically gives you just this generic soft waveform tone that doesn't give you a lot of information on the target. It is a killer machine, no doubt about that!
@randonfawcett9265

I agree, I love the tones of the Simplex. Sharp, distinctive tones. Everything else seems like the Peanuts teacher Whaa Whaa Whaa
I really enjoy my Simplex. I swing that more than my Vanquish 540. Do you plan on getting the Legend or waiting until after launch for more reviews?
Plus most people think its easy to learn but I think you need to do alot research on the simplex to really understand it cause using it off the bar with no knowledge can make identifying hard
Is it still useful at the beach? Which base is better? Thanks for the videos.
I really like the machine. But it likes chunky gold. And I'm missing the small gold jewelry. I sold it.
I wonder what all metal depth is and when vdi cuts out in all metal mode. I know the At Max is probably unmatched in that area, the vdi numbers are wickedly deep with ID.

Not new to the channel, I have thought about getting one for my 9 year old daughter I like that it's rechargeable (I hate buying batteries) and for$340 with the small coil too is a great deal. Collapsible shaft would work good since she's on the smaller size. Right now she uses a old Tesoro with no vdi or depth meter. Figure she could use it while she grows. I have the nox 800 ctx3030 Excalibur and several White's but they are too big or complex for her. Plus I wouldn't mind taking the simplex on trips since you can collapse it way down.

When you’re in saltwater you need to ground balance moving from wet sand and wet water once you ground balance Next to the water and then go into the water it should work better
I just got the Vanquish 540 Pro Pack, but it was a hard choice between it or the Simplex+. I may still pick one up later down the road since it is so affordable. I used a Whites Eagle Spectrum for 30 years so it's been a while since I've had to learn something new. Time will tell if SMF really gives you an edge in parks, "most of my hunting". I understand SMF can shine on the beach so I got that covered, but I only get to visit the beach once or twice a year. Simplex+ would also make an excellent backup for me.
