But not for the pull-tabs. They loose their properties after more than a year cause they dry in and if you pull them, they rip of easily. Its a completely wrong choise of securing a battery to a phone. You never get out that battery in two years without exploding or shorting it. And yes i know this of my own experience. And i am not a beginner and i have a lot of patience.

Interesting. Made an IP54 phone at Nokia twelve years ago. I can see where they chose to tolerate water ingress with sealed chambers and gaskets to define "this far and no further" Insane number of screws - all adds to the hand time in manufacturing. Plus all the flex connectors and cables. Take a look at that cable that actually *crosses* the main board passing *through* the cameras. Now that's bad design and development. The battery glue foils probably have the same gluing strength on both sides, instead of being slightly weaker towards the battery - this works to let you remove the battery more easily and still leave the foil in place. .... Old wars ... Good teardown 👍👍🙂

If you disassemble a Mercedes you will see a lot of "unnecessary" details and assemblies ... which you will not find in cheap and "practically" made cars. I believe this Nokia model has a leading price / quality ratio, with the latter surpassing the former.

What is an OK temperature to heat up the phone to melt the adhesive using a heat gun?
@PBKreviews
2 жыл бұрын
Between 80-100 degrees fahrenheit. If you aren't comfortable with a heat gun, a hair dryer would work just as well and sometimes is a better choice to evenly spread head to warm up the back cover enough to be hot to the touch to loosen the adhesive underneath without damaging components. You can always apply more heat as you start prying to keep the adhesive loose.

Where can you find replacement parts (back plate, outer housing, etc) for this phone?

can the fingerprint reader/power button be replaced separately on this phone - or does it require complete replacement of the frame ?

It can, but requires prying off the screen as well since the flex cable is routed through the mid frame. But keep in mind, the power button/volume button flex is separate to that of the fingerprint reader.

As long as you use original pre cut adhesive that is made for the phone to re apply the back plate or screen when taken off, you will retain the water resistance. Usually pre cut adhesive for the phone become available on online market places a few months after the phone is released or with replacement battery doors/back plates or screens.

Pull-Tabs are the completely wrong choise to secure a battery to a phone. After more than a year the pull-tabs just rip of everytime you just slightly pull on it. So the batter never comes out safely! Comanies try to trick you by choosing this option, cause it seems relatively easy to just pull the pull-tabs. But it isn't. Bad. Very bad. The environment thanked Nokia for this. Not.
I see that there are 5 coaxial cables, 2 of which are on the board. Do you know what everyone is responsible for because most other phones have only 2 coaxial cables, not 5
@PBKreviews
2 жыл бұрын
Usually the coaxial cables are used to connect antenna receiver/contact points. They can also be used for button or trigger keys or other things as well in different phones. Not sure exactly what each of these coaxial cables are for on this phone.

@@PBKreviews I personally assume that this single one, which is located on the side of the volume and power buttons and is connected to the additional small board, is responsible for a 5G connection. The other 2 on the side of the google assistant button say that one is for wifi and the other is for 2G, 3G and 4G frequency spectrum. but these two on the center board are interesting. Is it possible to be responsible for the supported CDMA2000 1xEV-DO technologists?

Maybe in that aspect, but in the terms of how solid it is built and how rugged it is, its a good price for those in the field who need devices like this.
