Great review, I just found out today Google is abandoning KaiOS, for phones after July 1, 2021 the Google Assistant, Whatsapp are not available. This one the Nokia 800 Tough, along with the Nokia 6300, 8000, MyFlip 2 and other KaioOS phones that are 2.5 they are on the safe side. The newer models like the sleek Nokia flip phones, unfortunately do not have the Google services that I mentioned earlier. It still has maps, but I think that is it. That is saddening. The Nokia 800 Tough seems like the best alternative, but I wonder if 3 years old, would that still work in the future. BTW, thanks for the review!

I have a problem with this phone, I pressed the button to restart the phone and the keyboard has lit up but the phone is stuck in that mode. I am hoping that if I leave the phone as it is with the keyboard lit up eventually the battery will be exhausted and the phone will reset itself. This will take several days I think but I cannot think of anything else to do apart from taking the back off and manually disconnecting the battery but I don't have the special screwdriver to take the back off a the moment. If I solve the problem I'll let you know.

Hello. I a ancient user of Nokia N82 and iPhone 3gs. I am looking for an old/old-style mobile phone and want to ask you some advice. Are there any ways to use these old 2.4-3 inch max phones that existed before 2010-2011 for two main things: (1) establish video calls and (2) text (and call) through the Internet. It seems that Android 2.1 and lower are not functional anymore? What's about Symbian OS? Is it possible to use Facetime and texting apps on iPhones 1-3gs?

You either have to be on wifi, or disable the requirement of wifi for updates by right clicking in the updater. It will also not let you update if low on battery, so plug it in. If that doesn't work you should return the phone for a new one. The latest KaiOS update removes google assistant sadly, because google is mad over the limitations of their spyware for KaiOS so they decided to punish the users for it in hope they'll switch to an android phone. But if you ask me I rather have my privacy intact than having a voice assistant. It's a shame you gotta choose but I know my priorities.

Hello, how are you, I'm thinking about buying it since the screen of my current cell phone has broken. I'm interested in this model because despite looking old, it has GPS and WhatsApp and gives more play when it comes to socializing (I'm 21 years old and I want to detox a little from social networks and so on).
