A big thanks for this. My old 6300 got wet so bought a second hand one to replace it but was locked...after watching this I just switched screens and it works perfect and saved me about £40 on an unlock code! Happy days!

Great video. Am refurbishing my N6300, new case, batt. + charger. Like others I luv it. The best pre-smart phone I've had for size + features. (loads of games + screensavers etc. on mem card)

The howto could come quite useful as I want to clear the display of my 6300 from inside a bit. It's 5 years old phone, but somehow I cannot part with it. BTW, I like the soothing voice in the video :)

hey, can you replace the card reader on this phone? i got this phone and the card reader was faulty, got soak in the rain, like really wet inside the screen it has bubbles in it, but after 3 days i turned it on im surprised it still works, i receive messages and so on, but the battery act strange it does sucked battery now like there's no tomorrow, and it doesn't read any sd cards.. hope you can help .. Sir, there is problem in power botton ,so how can i fix it.

i love my nokia 6300 i always replace it with another one not a new one. anyway i had two go on me and both times it was the mic i was wondering can they be fixed. also buying a second hand one it was foreign and although i set the phone to english when i text the foreign words come up first, i assume the phone learns but unless its brand new with english used first i have to keep changing the words till english comes up. i still have my two old phones and i would love to be able to fix the mic if it can be fixed

Is the procedure any different if the phone is locked to Virgin UK? I'm following the unlocking steps one by one very carefully with no result whatsoever...

That lock is usually removed by entering some numbers ?? or a software run at the shop. maybe even virgin will give it to you for free if you have recharged it enough for them to cover the cost of phone or may charge you a fee

Yes, exactly. I'm not able to unlock it in order to use it with other than Virgin networks.

***** ya! so you will have to do what I said in my earlier comment. If you had it long enough they may give you the codes for free
