NOFX 'IT'S MY JOB TO KEEP PUNK ROCK ELITE' COVER- BELVEDERE, LESS THAN JAKE, NO USE FOR A NAME, ETID
This latest release is a special one.
I got a call from my friend Ryan 'Legs' Leger. On Oct 17th, his good friend Shane Levac passed away. Shane was a drummer and loved all the same music that we do.
Ryan asked if we could put together a tribute for Shane covering one of his favourite bands, NOFX. To make it extra special, we asked members of some of his other favourite bands to join us, and they all happily agreed. This one features Steve Rawles from Belvedere, Matt Riddle from No Use For A Name and Face To Face, Roger Lima from Less Than Jake, as well as Ryan and myself.
If you would like to support the Levac family, please click the GoFundMe link below.

I've worked through the entire pandemic in the hvac trade that includes new. Construction and elderly folks heating and a/c in the Boston area wich most of you know is Antarctica in the winter and the rainforest high Temps and humidity in the summer ANYTIME I go into someone's home older than me I think of them as my grandmother tho she's no longer with us (she literally showed me how to beat Zelda link to the past on super Nintendo no fucking joke my grandmother crushed video games) and It's nerve racking I'm changing their filter and working on their systems to give them heat or air conditioning so that they can be warm and breath comfortably thru the seasons wich circulates air in a tight knit area of there apt/condo/house and I love my job i Iove helping people but, at the same time in Massachusetts they didn't shut down infrastructure/ new construction sites because there is a housing shortage and too many homeless people which from a first person standpoint was a complete and utter bullshit story CONSIDERING THE FACT WE ARE BUILDING HOUSES SELLING FOR 800,000$$ OR MORE AND LETS BE HONEST IM WORKING AND CANT AFFORD THAT YET PEOPLE BELIEVE IT BECAUSE THATS WHAT THEY'RE TOLD MEANWHILE IM OUT THERE RISKING MY LIFE WORKING EVERYDAY WITH NO SOCIAL DISTANCE NO ONE CLEANING THE JOBSITE AND SINCE WEVE ALL BEEN TO CONCERTS WE ALL KNOW HOW CLEAN THE PORTA JOHNS ARE ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY DONT SUPPLY HAND SANITIZER AND THE TOILET PAPER WAS GONE AND THEY DIDN'T CLEAN THEM IN A TIMLY FASHION ALL WHILE WORKING WITH ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CONSTRUCTION FRAMERS AND PAINTERS WHO ARE SENDING THERE $$$ OUT OF THIS COUNTRY TO THIER FAMILY THIS IS TRUTH PEOPLE THIS IS THE STUFF THEY WO T TELL YOU ON THE NEWS I feel this is never going to end they should have told everyone TO STAY HOME FOR ATLEAST 6 WEEKS AT THE BEGINNING OF COVID AND THIS SHIT WOULDN'T HAVE COST THIS COUNTRY TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN STIMULUS AND WE WOULDN'T BE NEARLY AS FUCT AS WE ARE NOW YES WE ALL WOULDVE TAKEN A HIT AT THE BEGINNING IF THEY DID WHAT I Said but we wouldn't be FUCKED NOW

@@Joshuamarc8 Is he really using double bass pedal? I see him use it on the parts where there is no charleston, but on the rest, I don't see his other leg moving. It looks to me like he's able to play the fast double beats with one foot. But I'm not an expert, so am I missing something here? I like how he plays anyway, with or without double bass. I don't know his band so now I'm interested in hearing it :D
I remember when I first listened to Belvedere when a brazilian label released a split with 3 more bands (with my belgium friends from Flatcat) around 2001. I was impressed about how powerful were their songs and recording, specially the song called "The people's song". Glad to hear his vocals again. Thank you Mikey! Great job as always.
this is the best covid project out there. i am into old-school punk, also into nofx. i am learning about so many other (newer) bands that i have not known and seeing some of my old favorites perform in an everyday setting creating fucknA rock'n'roll. thank you
Wow, Shane would have loved this. Thanks for doing this guys!

A classic performed in just the tightest of ways. Those drums actually melt my face in the most crispy and delicious way. Punk beats forever, and also Smelly is a legend so it’s good to see him done such justice.

Well done on the cover but the snare is anoying as hell...
@tjf5348
3 жыл бұрын
@@jimmyperron2210 It's the mic being used. If I'm not wrong it's a single mic that clips onto the kick drum. It's the same setup El Estepario Siberiano here on KZread uses and it's compressed as hell in order to pick up everything. It sounds ok on its own or in a drum cover where drums are meant to be the primary focus but in an actual mix it sounds really jarring. Drums come off as too punchy and it's a little irritating to listen to. Edit: The mic I'm talking about is a Yamaha EAD10. Great mic on its own. Not so great for in a mix in my opinion. Way too compressed. This is still an awesome cover though.
Good job guys,
That was class
These vids / songs are the best thing to happen in punk rock for decades

Great!!
Esto es algo realmente sublime! Los NOFX deberían estar muy contentos con este cover
Fucking awesome guys. So on point that I half expected that K hole bassline to come in!
Holy Crap!! One of my all time favorite NOFX songs with so many people I’ve seen in concerts over the last 20 years. Wow. I have a photo in one of my old albums of me and the bassist from Less Than Jake at a warped tour. Caught him out in the open grabbing a burrito lol. He said “sure man I’ll take a picture with ya, but I’m hungry as shit so I’m eating during this”.
This is so sick
love this channel
What a drummer!
Awesome
good job. Nicely done. Really like the vocal harmony
That drum set sounds amazing 👏
Pretty dope!
Best one yet
Good version of this song, and sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. When do I get to play a song or 2 with you?
I always love to see NOFX covers and the bands they've influenced over the years! I miss fat Mike, though, would be fun to see the artists cover each other's songs
what a good line up!
