I go back to this song every time in my life. I've well moved past the catalog, even the solo stuff to a degree, on both ends and this is one of just a few that is always a theme to my life. It made me and makes me everything I am, and it makes everything ok for a moment.

@@brianboman9801 What you say feels so true...I think by now it has reached a status in the collective psyche that no one could have imagined in the past - it has gotten deeper, richer and timeless - I think this song is a forever classic and one of a kind at that, like...some kind of "Hey Jude" for the relevant generation

@@funni150 That is because it is an unfair comparison. Bonehead brings rich, heavy rhythm guitar, while Gem is more of a soloist/lead, but could do both. Gem technically is a better guitarist, however they usually aren't playing the same parts of the song to begin with

This is it, like the recent reworking of Live Forever - both grown up versions. Neither should be compared to the originals either. They were from a different place, a different time. These are the reflective versions for a different era. They've grown up like the now 40/50 year olds who were at Earls Court, Maine Road, Knebworth in 95/96. I don't understand why people who were there then don't get why these new versions are so special now.

Aside from the original studio version, this has got to be my favourite rendition of the song. Incredible how it works both as a euphoric, no-regrets anthem, and a reflective, melancholic ballad. That’s the genius of Noel’s writing- his outlook is always positive, yet more often than not it’s tinged with sadness, and vice versa. You can look on the bright side, but that doesn’t mean you have to pretend the darkness isn’t there. Noel has truly mastered this. He sounds impeccable here and the band are all amazing. Honestly what a version. Seeing this song at Brighton beach Sunday was just magic. Pure magic. This one will be loved by millions until the world burns out. I hope someone has the sense to put it on a capsule to space because this is something you can’t recapture. So beautiful

Man. Sometimes a song just hits your soul. This song had helped me though so many parts of my life.

Altough the song is about having no regrets. When listening to it, it somehow always brings my heart and mind back to a time where i’m regretting certain decisions I’ve made in the past! What powerfull song!

Ever since the Manchester Arena attack. With the cowardly killings of innocent kids and adults, ever since that one woman sang this at the vigil. This song brought a whole new meaning to the Mancunian family, it is what Manchester is. They will not be defeated by terrorism. They've been through it a couple of times and come out stronger as a community. Noel Gallagher with his lyrics also brought a community together. It gives me goosebumps now. This song has been around nearly my whole life and now in my 30s it means so much more as a Mancunian myself
