People can say all they want about Noel Gallagher, if they think he's just a grumpy arrogant twat, but I love him and he's one of the only musicians today that speaks from the heart and is speaking the truth. I still buy CDs in spite of downloading, streaming because there is no better feeling than walking out of HMV or any other music shop with a CD/Vinyl by a band you love in your hand that you've paid for and it's yours to keep for the rest of your life. That quote he says about people rather buying coffees than buying music has stayed with me ever since I first watched this video, cos it does sums up today's music industry and how people just don't value the music 'product' anymore.

Well, if you watch the Supersonic documentary you see that their mother says Noel was always quiet and in his room writing or playing guitar. And liam was a bold kid and really out there. And Noel says that he's like a cat and liam is like a dog and that's why they don't really get on. In other words, Noel is an introvert and Liam is an extrovert

People don't value music anymore because everyone can make it with already made samples in 5 minutes on their laptop. It's made on the cheap, it sounds cheap, it's sold cheap, & it means nothing when you have Jess Glynne repeating the same title line of the track 30 times in a put on American accent. The worst part of this is.. people actually think POP music is good. So that when they eventually hear real genuine music.. they don't get it. Just like how ppl who survive off ready meals & take away can't stand to eat vegetables. We live in shit times.

Oh for fuck's sake, when will middle-aged people stop citing the two hours per week of exposure to the very surface of pop culture they have as EVERYTHING that is going on in the world and proof that their time was better? Yes, one can make "music" that way, but that is not all there is. There is so much music in existence that there is literally something for EVERYONE. There is TONS of good music out there, you just have to look for it. That's part of the reason we hesitate to pay for music, we already went to all the trouble of searching for it. Another reason is that we can hear anything, anytime for free. We don't even have to illegally download it, we just have to go on KZread, Spotify, Soundcloud, etc. and type it in. Not saying that's a good thing, just the way it is. And people won't pay for an album that's been anywhere near Noel Gallagher because he's a shit artist. I would rather hear something a legitimately creative person made with a laptop than whatever decidedly Britpop shaped nugget of bullshit he squeezed out of his guitar.

I totally agree about spending money on music. Music is so important, and has such a huge value and effect to and on your life. Coffee is just coffee, who cares if they write your name on the cup with a Sharpie. Even more annoyed right now that I recently lost my 160GB iPod with 3 grands worth of music on. That's right, it's 2016 and I still pay for music. I download my coffee though, yeah the quality isn't as good, but you can just stream it to your face... (Just so people are aware, this is obviously me joking; I just personally believe [and know from my own life experience] how powerful music is, with regards to how it can change your mood, and change how you feel almost instantly; if I didn't have music, then I don't know what I'd do on the days I feel really apathetic/uncaring and/or even "depressed" [PLEASE PAY FOR YOUR MUSIC: PIRACY IS SO UNCOOL and OBVIOUSLY WRONG]. Also, I would just like to add; I am NOT "against Coffee" - I personally really enjoy a nice cup of Coffee [and my Coffee is also paid for...] when I wake up to get me going: Coffee lifts my mood and gives me a "burst" of energy to start me off each day, as Coffee helps me focus and keeps me "energised". Please don't drink too much of it though, as it can cause you problems with anxiety, and it can stop you from sleeping at night. However, I thank YHVH [God] Almighty in Yahshua [Jesus] The Messiah's Name, for Coffee, as it really is something that helps me, and I also really enjoy how it tastes and makes me feel!). Peace and love, TJ x

Yeah, iPods are almost something we "need" as humans. I don't get how people say they store all their music on their phone, why would anybody want to do that?

I so agree! There's something about holding an iPod. I didn't even mind the "thickness" that people complained about. I loved it, it felt solid, like it was going to last forever; or at least a very long time. I'm considering shelling out $300 for a new one on Amazon.

The paradigm shift has changed; but you can certainly see the silliness in it all. An album and its effects on your psyche are embed a lifetime; a coffee just hypes you up for a couple of hours ( provides your under forty/then it has minimal effect), clears your hangover so your ready for lunch and the pub after lunch.
