I absolutely love Rival Sons, they are simply an incredible music act! For some reason I always get a Humble Pie vibe from them, maybe it’s because they did an incredible cover of Humble Pie’s song Black Coffee
Rival Sons is my favorite rock group right now. Jay Buchanan is a transcendent vocalist. They ROCK. I can't live without listening to them at least once a week. I wish they were as big as groups like AC/DC and Metallica. They are passionate and creative and class all the way. They've paid their dues, honed their skills, and deserve to be heard. Folks in Europe get it.
Never heard of these guys and absolutely loved this song. Definitely gotta checkout more of their stuff. Thank you guys for sharing even some of the newer songs. I was pleasantly surprised to see Andy wearing a Dirty Honey t-shift recently, who I just got into this year as well. You guys keep rockin'!
Sounds a lot like Sammy Hagar. Listen to I Can’t Drive 55, sounds very similar to this.
Thanks for introducing a modern, classic rock-esque band! Been trying to expand a bit outside my comfort zone. Loved it! Till next time. 💞💞✌️

@@griselame Thank you so much! 🙂
A little too basic for my tastes, but it was a good song and it reminded me of Sammy Hagar. Perhaps with this group, young people will be inspired to listen to more Rock, especially the classic tunes, and that's a great thing.
I've been following Rival Sons and love the hell outta their vibe. Strong rock blues , "Open My Eyes" is an earlier gem by the band. Absolutely love these boyzzz‼️‼️‼️‼️ Another great band, Small Town Titans, you will not be disappointed. The lead singer is beyond amazing, drums and guitar way beyond!!
I love Rival Sons. They always sound like a harder version of Bad Company to me (lead singer's voice reminds me a lot of Paul Rodgers).

More like Ian Asbury of The Cult. Jay is good but nothing like Paul Rodgers bluesy voice
Fun song and really fun video. Miss seeing fun videos like that regularly during the mtv days. Video had a very tarantino/robert rodriguez feel.
1...2...3... C+
I will have to listen to it without the music video. When music videos allow additional sound effects that drown out the song it really dampens the appeal of the song itself for me. Definitely one of my biggest pet peeves!

Nice one guys, love me some RIVAL SONS! They are THE vanguard of the New Wave of Classic Rock!! 🤘 Can't wait for a new album.
Was ok. Maybe with more listens idk.
Dave Beste from hometown proud, Lincoln, NE! These guys KNOW what Rock and Roll SHOULD be!! A breath of fresh air!! Love it!
Lost the sound at about 3:12, but what I heard was pretty good, except it sound a little too crowded. Instruments were all blended together into white noise at certain places. (Still better than most of the new music I hear....)
As good as they are on video, they're amazing live. Saw them with Stone Temple Pilots, and Rival Sons blew them out of the water.
Their drummer is fucking magnificent!
I really wanted to be blown away by this, but I wasn't. I don't relish being a killjoy, but this didn't remind me of Zeppelin at all -- it reminded me of bands like Danzig and Blackfoot, bands that were already derivative back then. For post-2000 rock, I love songs like Somebody Told Me by the Killers, The Middle by Jimmy Eat World, or Warning Sign by Coldplay -- those all sound fresh to me. This sounds like warmed-over leftovers, superbly played and produced. You guys are being fair and generous gentlemen, as always, carry on.

You should check out keep on swinging, to me that has the biggest zeppelin tie
Best voice, best frontman, best damn band in the land past decade.
A good little banger. The singer sounds a bit like the Cult's singer. Thanks for mixing in a new tune that falls in line with the classic rock songs that are normally on the channel.
I'm an "old guy," pretty much stuck on 60s through early 80s music, but anyone who thinks these guys aren't legit should see them play live. Kick @$$.
Can't wait for this album. Sounds like some of their heaviest material since "Great Western Valkyrie". Andy has a lot of catching up to do.
I'm not sure I've heard this. I know you'll all be looking forward to my reaction. Reminiscent of that 70s southern rock. Pretty good rock n roll. I'll be surfin' the tube to find some more of their stuff.
Been following this band since they were named the Black Summer Crush. A great modern take on classic rock n roll sound from the late 60 's 70's. Each album gets better.
Never been able to get into these guys. Singer’s got a good “classic rock” voice though. Still waiting on you guys to do some King Gizzard!! Literally one of the best bands of all time. With 4 albums just this year!

@@andyandalex Oh awesome! Guess I missed that part of the stream. Gonna go find it. You guys rock!
About 8 years ago I heard "Keep On Swinging" & "Pressure & Time" and I've been a fan ever since. They give me a pleasant jolt back to my concert-going youth in the 70's (especially Zeppelin 3 times). But they're not copy cats, just cool & talented. Please check out the aforementioned songs. Definitely worth it. 💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙

Saw them live a few years ago. Great band.
I appreciate them more now than when they first came out. Definitely worth a listen. Great new song by them.
New album, Darkfighter, drops 3/10!! They have a few shows coming up…. maybe they’ll be in your area. We’re hoping to see them (have tickets, can’t find a sitter…gah!!) in Chicago on 10/29.
Rival Sons are pretty awesome, most of all the 'Great Western Valkyrie' album - saw them live around that time. Super fun video - solid rock song.
Seen them 6 times. Quality band
Loads of great Rival Sons. A new band to definitely check out if y’all haven’t heard much already is Dirty Honey. Badass.

Yes, saw DH in April. Great band. I did see Andy wearing a DH t-shirt a few weeks ago in one of their uploads.
That was awesome. You have to treat us to more of that!!!!
I felt exhausted after listing. So much going on. It drives the whole time but with a lot of interesting textures coming and going to hold your interest. Thanks for sharing!
HOT DAMN! Made making my eggs a lot more fun. Will definitely be checking out more from these guys. Thanks :)
I've loved this band since they 1st came out! To me I think he sounds a little like Ian Astbury, of The Cult. Love the video! Have you guys ever done a reaction to Clutch?? I think there are pretty cool band from the nineties and they're still killing it! If you haven't, I hope you will check them out! And speaking of The Cult… you really need to check out something from their best album, "Electric"… my favorite is "Peace Dog"!
They sound great live I saw them open for Black Sabbath on their last tour 🤘🏻
Here’s one that’ll surprise the heck out of you: One hit wonders out of Houston, TX… Bubble Puppy with their seminal rocker Hot Smoke & Sassafras. Circa approx 1968 and it was truly the only song I remember my Dad turning down after I’d turn it up!
I know this band. They are ok. My Son was big fan of them I heard their music many times. I always thought it derivative..

I've never heard them, but holy crap - I like that $hit!
I liked it. A- for me. Molly Hatchet and Zep had a baby. The video was fantastic w the Tarantino flavor.
I really enjoyed this song. They sounded like a hard core 38 Special.
Finally, the truth is told. “‘A’ is a safe rating”. Maybe revamp the rating system so as to be less safe?
@andyandalex
Жыл бұрын
It’s a safe rating in a case like this where it’s out of the realm of what we usually hit and the vibe was really good but not like legendary or anything, I’m kinda feeling B at this point, I think the video gave it a cool flare that made me enjoy it more than I might w/o it
I saw them at the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville a few years ago and they are awesome live.
They covered War Pigs at the Grammys a few years ago. Sounded great!
That was enjoyable! Thanks!
I heard this song for the first time the other day and I am now a fan.

Agreed
My first Rival Sons song was Pressure and Time, alone a great song, but their superb music video with it is godly amazing! I know this was probably a one-off, but if you're looking to listen to a good song with a great throwback style music video, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats - "S.O.B." is a great song and fun music video with like Blue Brothers end scene vibes!
Rockin' in the 2020s. Finally!
GOOOOOOOD MORNING A&A FAMILY!!!! ☮️💟♾️
Getting a Sammy Hagar feel from the lead singer. I like it!
Hope you do a live stream soon. I want to be caught up on what’s going on down there. What happened during the hurricanes etc.
This is a great song to have on when you're doing something else like playing pool. But if I was listening to music just to listen to music I would never dial this up. C rating.
A+ musicians making B- music, rock used to be fun but its all so serious now..
Another band to check out is Dirty Honey - good 70/80’s rock sound
I dig it. This would’ve fitted quite nicely on the Foo Fighters’ “Wasting Light” album. On my own personal rating this is a 5/5 song. You never skip it and you definitely turn it up. Note that my rating is more forgiving and simplified. Not all 5/5 songs are created equal.
Love it
Saw them open for Sabbeth a few years ago they where great!
Not bad. Competent, if fairly predictable rock. I'd give it a B-
Loved it!
It's funny that Andy mentioned liking the chorus...I thought that was maybe the weakest part of it. The riff was great and overall a pretty good jam but yeah, the chorus could have been a lot stronger.
Rival Sons are the best hard rock band on the planet right now.Feral Roots was a banger on steroids
A great band from Long Beach California. Been around for awhile 👍
Pretty good stuff. For me the best current hard rock band is Black Star Riders. Been around a while, one of the founders was Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy, who left the band a year ago.
@flyingburritobro68
Жыл бұрын
They were good but without Damon Johnson and Scott Gorham no thanks
👍😎 As a 60+ guy who loves music, I don’t usually like newer stuff. That was an exception, that was pretty good. Still tough on grading (B+). That’s high for a new band coming from me.
Whhaa?!?!?!?! They still make RAWK?!? But it's not the _____ (fill in the year)! Hahahaha!!! Okay, that was fun! Not too long, not too wonky. Good stuff!
This gives me strong vibes of Royal Blood, Highly Suspect, Death from Above 1979, and a few other sort of “pure rock” acts of the past 10-15 years. I think you’d enjoy all of the above if you’re not already tuned in.
This song is awesome
Just do every number one hit from the 70s in chronological order
Liked it, especially the guitar work. Been looking for something modern instead of always going back to classic rock. That said, surprised you guys have apparently never done a reaction to Simply Red (Holding Back the Years; If You Don't Know Me By Now). Also, some of Gary Moore's solo blues work (Still Got the Blues; Parisienne Walkways) as opposed to his times with Thin Lizzy. Love your work! Feel another Patreon coming on!
Yeah . . . this rocks. Thanks guys. I'm always on the lookout for new rock bands, and there are way more of them that are pretty good than most folks imagine. I recommend Little Stevens "Underground Garage" and his great "Wicked Cool" records label as a terrific source.
Not bad. Basic. Obvious chord changes. Knew what was coming.
That was a fun listen. Not bad at all.
Dug it. Nice. Good Rock with a slight Southern rock element. Try some Gojeria
Don't think I've ever heard another song from Rival Sons aside from Pressure and Time, the main song from that legendarily bad video game Ride to Hell: Retribution. But that was a good bit of alright.
I just about spit my coffee out when I saw you were reviewing Rival Sons. I wouldn't say Led Zeppelin. Maybe the lovechild of Bad Company and Motorhead
You guys should check out Richie Kotzen. Rock, soul ,ballads Richie does it all and he plays all the instruments on the vast majority of his music. Recommend The Damned as a good first listen
Sounds like solo Sammy Hagar. Not the seventies I remember.
Ok you rebels 😉. I listen to classic rock so for me this was pretty good. Andy was spot on with the references.
I like it. He sounds a lot like Ian Astbury from The Cult to me.
Reminds me of Sammy
Pressure And Time started it for me. Watch a live version.
I think "Too Bad" is their best tune.
You need to check out The Warning if you havent checked them out already .3 sisters from Mexico , the oldest 22 .They arent the future of rock they are its present .
🤘
A Bible full of dynamite is a spaghetti western type of thing.
“Struck by Lightning” by TOTO
It's fine I guess. Nothing that hasn't been done before. Maybe they have run out of original tunes.
The melodic interlude/ solo was the best part by far. The video bumped my rating a bit with its Tarantinoesque presentation. C+ from me. A little too repetitive with the chorus without any real variation would be my gripe.
cool tune
For some reason I kept hearing the Cult?
Never watch the video the first time you hear a song. Did I say never?

I saw these guys when they were the opening act on Black Sabbath's final tour. They were ok but then again they were opening up for royalty so standards were high!!
Yeah B- for me
They felt like a band that has a goal of writing to a certain type of sound rather than going where the music takes them. More packaging than substance. Self-limiting.
