That old farmhouse has had loads of character in its day. This was a very interesting location to explore. That old place is really lost in time. It’s amazing that the old David Brown tractor is still there. She could still be worth saving,I think.

Hi Colin another great video, what an amazing old house.I bet in its prime it was superb with those views what a place to live. The tractor was a great find,David Brown was a firm who made tractors etc and saw a car company for sale and bought it.Guess what it was Aston Martin, thought you might be interested in that information being a car geek like me. I think it was one time you needed shorts looking at the weather.Great commentary as usual, looking forward to next weeks. Take Care.😀

I did a MOT status check and the David Brown tractor and it came up as “sorn”. Last log book was in 1979 so maybe it came off the road a bit after that?

hi Colin, l Looked him up, Sir David Brown, the Northern industrialist who, back in 1947, bought the moribund Aston Martin company out of his own, admittedly deep, pockets for £20,500. Then, like some modern alchemist, he married the fine-handling but underpowered Aston chassis with the remarkable twin-cam six engine of the Bentley-developed Lagonda (another of his personal purchases) to create the handsome Aston Martin DB2, the first in a line of “DB”-badged sporting legends

A friend of mine's sister had a boyfriend called David Brown. He got pulled by the police driving a David Brown tractor, when they asked him his name and he said David Brown they thought he was taking the mic and arrested him, his mum or dad had to take his id down to the police station to prove it.

I'm pretty sure that first room held the wash copper? I can't recall the proper name for it. Built in like that, fire lit underneath to heat up the water to wash it with the wooden dolly. The fact it had curtains and pretty lace curtains meant the lady of the house took wash day seriously as well as great pride in her home. I also suspect that as well as hanging the washing to dry once through the mangle she popped bits into the side oven of the range to dry them too. My great grandmother did that on their farm if there wasn't a young lamb being kept gently warm if rejected by its mother. I suspect that this farmhouse that's seen centuries of farm life was last updated in the 40/50s and last lived in the 70s from that cupboard with the sweet jars. The other attic end room roof did look good and wouldn't have been too expensive for the farm to do up for general storage with the corrugated roof. My late family did that too, with the ancient farmhouse left to fall into rúin for Storage And the new farm house built nearby. This was a really beautiful find and a joy to watch, thank you❤❤

We live in rural Wales and I asked a farmer friend why there are so many abandoned farm houses in Wales. He said that if a farm is sold off, it is often the farm next door that buys it. Mainly for the land and barns etc. But the farmhouse itself is often left to rot because the purchaser already has a home. Quite sad really.

The "DB 990 Implematic series" tractor was made in the 1960s so the tractor at least has to be after that. I did check PEY 152K and saw that its Colour : Brown Fuel type : Diesel Date registered : 7 December 1971 So that tractor was actually registered for the first time in 1971..maybe tractors had to be registered after that date or maybe ir was just sold in 1971, not sure :)
