What really gets me is that she prevented a lot of female comedians from doing their own material and gettting a platform. Like the New York comedy scene in the early 2000's was absolutely litttered with other female comedians who say Amy stole their jokes. Yet Amy was the one who became successful because she's got a powerful family.

I think she has this sort of opportunity right now because despite the majority of us hating her, she’s convinced Hollywood that it’s just sexist alt-right pigs trying to bring another woman down. I’m pretty liberal, and I despise this woman’s comedy and desire for attention. Reminds me of when Lena Dunham got salty that Odell Beckham didn’t want to sleep with her or look at her or something like that which was weird because that came out of nowhere.

@@lightningpenguin8937 I think the joke being at the expense of those involved in the actual incident or the shock value of it makes it sound like she’s just exploiting (mocking? Idk if it meets the definition but I think it’s similar) the tragedy. Others may disagree, but that’s how I see it. I also think Will Smith was clearly in the wrong and slapping is assault, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. Poking is assault; there are different levels of assault, and slapping usually isn’t one of the more extreme (worse than poking usually since it’d usually hurt, but still not very extreme). Nobody was seriously hurt by it, and Chris Rock recovered very quickly and continued on. Slapping over a relatively harmless (I think it was arguably a bit offensive but that’s irrelevant here) joke is bad and assault, but some people responded like Will did actually shoot someone, or at least threw a punch (some even lied and said it was actually a punch). So my stance is also that Will was in the wrong, but joking about someone dying is usually way worse imo.

I'm always impressed with Amy Schumer's ability to steal hilarious jokes and uniquely butcher the set up and punchline every time. Being that bad and still in work is truly original.

Her voice alone makes me want to use a cheese grater on my eyeballs and her “jokes” make me want to be unalived by balloons somehow.

Amy Schumer is the reason people see women as unfunny and I fully blame her for that rhetoric. Women deserve better funny representation.

I really dislike how Amy Shumer presents herself as a progressor for women in the entertainment industry when there are so many unrecognized female comedians out there who have such original, hilarious, and carefully crafted jokes that Schumer won't hesitate to steal from. I know some people use Amy Schumer's behavior as a way to generalize women as "not funny," so I'm really glad more people are holding her accountable for solely her actions rather than integrating them with numerous female entertainers out there who put a lot of effort and dedication into their work.

When I still lived with my biological parents I remember being forced to watch Any Schumer, laughed at any other joke that wasn't hers because hearing hers made me forget what comedy was
