The reason there’s no orange in the flag is cuz the orange paint faded quickly so it was changed to red. For special occasions tho an orange pennant is tied onto the flag.

@@krasnamerah1926 which is actually kind of weird because Wilhelmina was the one who definitively settled the issue. The Dutch fascists (who Wilhelmina despised) favoured the orange 'Prinsenvlag'. So she made red, white and blue the official colours.

Okey dutch guy here there is a orange flag its called the prinsenvlag(princes flag) but it was used by the nsb (dutch nazis) so naaaah red white and blue are ower coulors and orange is ouwer royal coulour

You should've converted those east indies' divisions to a bigger template before annexing them so that you could get more manpower out of them.

I love to use the spies to root out the resistance early at least one of the two, works like a charm if you lack MP, or guns. Also the anti partisan upgrades in the agency are great.

I knew this from making my way to the achievement that require me to hold the ground till some year that I forgot and I picked the monarchist path that no one ever played yet

the man the guns focus trees are good as hell and people dont respect them enough i think. netherlands and mexico are my singleplayer go-tos, and i feel like all the paths they can do are incredibly fun, even stuff like leading the minor democracies. at the very least, playing as the dutch is incredibly good defending practice, and mexico is great rushing practice.

Yes they are probably the best focus tree in the game. Only the USA one is a little lacking in comparison.

I was born in Germany and have dual Dutch-German nationality, and it is important that DUTCH is written in front of GERMAN. This video made me happy!

One division training still works it just takes a few months depending on the nation for example I would recommend loading up as Australia or South Africa because they have larger templates so the one division training will occur faster

Even more hilarious is when you just casually ask Britain for Belgium and Luxemburg and they agree to it, think it's part of the same focus?

Bless that dlc. Together for victory is essential to the game if you're playing any colonial power or even potentially small nations building up (like the Tannu Nuva Siberia run)

With over 2,500 hours in HOI4 and 99 achievements... I've only seen this once... while I was playing the Dutch in 1.9.0 and abusing a glitch to repeatedly dismantle the German Army and economy.

So glad I've discovered this channel. Super interesting, entertaining, informative and hilarious!

Damn it's the man the myth the legend indy and his glorious tie.

You can train a lot of Nethetlands 1 infantry divisions and then switch them to the largest puppet division before annexing. Even if you don’t have equipment, you will get much more manpower.

Eh I usually go more for the hold the line style builds with far less focus on air while also building a decent number of subs as the netherlands. Means you hold more and can start pushing earlier and kill the Italians in africa by convoy-raiding area's their fleets can't get to to death, but you'll have larger issues actually capitulating germany because you'll need to send troops to southern France once the brits as usual abandon the continent. As you can't get air superiority anywhere that way

The correct pronunciation for 'bazinga' works is; zow-duh-zay, it means southern sea in Dutch and it's the water to the east of Amsterdam. The history behind it is that it was the name of the programme where we started reclaiming land from the sea. Hope this helps! :)

this event is so underutilized that the bug where it doesnt have a name of the person leading the civil war is still there to this day

I actually just discovered this by accident a few weeks ago. Had no idea that Wilhelmism would actually spark a civil war, I just figured the wording of the focus was misleading

I think that the interception thing occurs because you are less efficient with having both air superiority and interception mission at the same time as in southern france you had both missions on but on Netherlands you only had one on

I literally always end up with 50 or 60 resistance because ill go from local autonomy to nothing and not realize it for months.

I was actually in a multiplayer game where the Dutch ai managed to pull this off. Japan never took the Dutch East Indies and no one noticed that they were going down the monarchist path. We were all very confused when Imperial German units started showing up and all the German territory was being liberated to Imperial Germany.

Some divisions didn't have enough supplies and I was thinking about a video by ISorrowProductions and he had 5k divisions and some didnt have guns. and he said imagine a lot of chinese people without guns running at you. In your case it is Dutch people

You should have made a one battalion division for the east indies and slammed that out instead then converted the divisions to the larger template, that way you would have got a few hundred thousand more manpower

what works better for me is making divisions with dutch east indies and using them to defend europe, you can have like 2 million manpower deployed

I once got an event to put himmler in charge of the mp as germany, which I did because I had never seen it before. This caused a civil war, which I barely won, followed by a series of events, turning germany from a military junta into a democracy. I am guessing that Road to 56 caused this, as I have no DLC, am a noob, and have been unable to repeat this. And, the flag was incorrect for a democratic germany, not even considering the Kaiser being in charge of a republic. Which is nonesense.

The flag does looks a lot more traditional with the orange in it

I think annexing the east indies may have been a mistake you end up spending more equipment on garrisoning the stuff than you get from factories there

Dear Dave, if you revisit the Netherlands in HOI4 and want to get some of the Dutch pronunciations right, just ask your subscribers. Then you can unlock the real life achievement of pronouncing Zuiderzee works without having to resort to calling it bazingazee works, or use words like vaarplicht with pride. Dutch is somewhat manageable to learn as a native English speaker. If you were Mandarin Chinese, you'd have to learn Tongue Fu first in order to get the basics right.

feedback gaming probably knows this by now, but if you want to drain puppet manpower, simply spam tiny divisions, and after you deploy them turn them into massive puppet divisions, the game will reinforce them by adding everything they have to it first, which will be manpower, meaning that you can go from a small manpower drain to a massive manpower vacume drain by simply changing the unit template to a bigger puppet division

One of my first games as the Netherlands (I'm Dutch) was as the Netherlands where I managed to hold off the Germans with the allies at my border and caused a civil war in Germany. Felt like a beast to make Germany my puppet while absolutely sucking at the game

when you clicked on the Netherlands, and showed a dutch man in his chair, I just watched a video of him explaining German OIl. LOL

Yeah, about the orange in the flag. The dutch battleflag during the dutch revolution used to be orange, white and blue. However this flag was later used by the the dutch facist party, NSB, so you can't really use this flag anymore nowadays. Which is a shame imo because it used te symbolise dutch resistance.

It annoyed me that with Man the guns you get the Netherlands tree but all interactions with Indonesia are only gonna affect you if you have Together for victory as well. They really make u buy an extra dlc just to use the first one fully

How do you manage to create 200 dutch indies divisions ? There is a limit of concurrent divisions you can train at a same time (normally).

Think you know this, but as you didn't do it, it might be New, but... After deploying these small units, change their template to a langer colonial one for more manpower once you annex them. They have the manpower, which should be used instantly, the gun shortage shouldn´'t pose a problem for the conversion.
